First bad event I just went through
Hello,

I don't understand the random grouping system

I was trying to progress through the game and I met 2 different groups.

First groups was the perfect group, HOWEVER, the system, although you can skip through the "boring stuff" story conversation, the group was 1 step ahead of me, and I was trying to do the missions they were on, but because I was still getting info through a obligatory conversation that I couldn't skip.

By the time the interlocutor was done talking. the group I was with were also done with the first mission, so I was left alone to redo the part they just did...

It felt more like a real life golf course where you follow the group ahead of you and there's another group behind you. So by the time I was done, I saw another group start the mission I did first...

The second group, I don't want to call them noobs, trolls or any bad word associate. They were "exploring" the map rather than do the missions. I tried to find a way to get in another group, but my bad computer skills, I ended up "lightly" rage quitting the game.

Now, it's not game breaking and I'll be back later, but maybe add a function to search for other groups? Or if it's in already, I probably missed it....

Thanks

Unless you meant figuratively, haven't actually seen any conversations/cutscenes that couldn't be skipped. I'd know, because I regularly skip them all the time without bothering to watch them first. It sounds like they just didn't want to wait for you, & so moved on without you.

Can't say I blame them. People tend to cycle through tons of coop groups, then move onto the next group after whatever activity is done. So it probably wasn't personal.

As for the random grouping.... there isn't much to understand. Sometimes you get a good roll of the dice, other times you don't; & instead get stuck with AFKers or toxic players. It is what it is, & it's a problem in basically every game (some way more than others).

There's also an option already in the game (under the social tab) to see who you've recently played with; though I doubt it'd have made much difference if they just didn't want to wait, anyway.

I've asked for help in chat from randoms, & received it quickly enough (friendly banter during the activity included also), so the community from my experience seems helpful enough. But they also tend to leave extremely quickly after whatever mission, etc, is done & it's "k, bye. Take care" then gone 2 seconds after.

Because of the grindy nature of these types of game, that 'wham, bam, thank you ma’am' mentality is extremely common to quickly get through all the repetitive bits & speed onto the next. Seems like you'd be better arranging a group beforehand to find similar people, as the overwhelming majority won't wait around long for randoms.

just warp back to albion then back to the map you were on. also its not really a "group" your playing with, its just people for that map. if you want to group with people you can do that via the social tab. if you want to find a group to run with use albion or discord.

How do you skip a conversation?

Spam spacebar in convos hold escape in cutscenes.

If you play in the open world, then there can always be up to 4 people, however unless you are in a group with them, then they're not linked to the stuff you're doing. You can join them by either accepting the same mission as them or by attacking a monster or doing an objective of their mission. And obviously, since they've no obligations to do the same things as you, they're also allowed to just explore the surroundings or just do other stuff than what you want to do. If you're solo, then you occasionally get people to join you, but rather expect to do the most stuff alone.

You can press space to skip a single text box or hold escape to skip the whole dialogue or cutscene. Though keep in mind that you can't repeat them.

Yep this is very annoying and nothing you can do about it for now.

You don't need to skip dialogue and scenes if you don't want to. The people you were with were rando just doing it quickly, either they paid money to skip half the game, or they were farming the same content over again for mats/items and had already done the dialogue.

The story for the game isn't anything special, but it's not badly done (Except the godawful lip-syncing) and worth it if your interested in that kind of stuff. Other players will join you even if you fall behind another group.
