Forced coop ?

From what I see online it seems all the content forces you into grouping with other people, right ?

Any way to do stuff alone ?

Most of it seems soloable, even if some parts will be very hard and downright impossible with some descendants (there is a huge difference in what characters are solo friendly and not and I don't mean the medic).
Some of the harder or timed content tho, not sure, I'd say probably not possible unless you are really, really good.

You can always queue up for private missions and set your battlefield semi free roam areas to private too, it's just not gonna be as quick and easy to accomplish. Though certain tough bosses will be weakened when you solo queue so that they are possible

When you click on an area on the map the top left has a button you can toggle public to private. Coop isnt forced.

Thank you for your answer, but I didn't mean difficulty wise. But my message was unclear so it's my fault.
I meant the fact that when you do a mission, if there is a player nearby, you will automatically play together and that's not what I want, I want to enjoy the pace and the difficulty alone

They can be soloed, it's just really frustrating and often will take multiple tries. But yeah, sometimes it's a little... 15 seconds left and 8 explody enemies spawn and rapidly approuch form 4 sides and it's just like "Yeah... okay..."

When selecting area where you go to do missions, you can in the left top corner select whether it's a public or private session. Noone can join (aside from friends I think, unless you set that to off) you if you set it to private, if you leave it public, anyone walking by can jump into your stuff.

"Raid" bosses and dungeons let you pick whether you want to matchmake or just go in.

If a player is doing a mission already and they shoot or interact with anything in your mission. They automatically join it. If you want to avoid this, play in a private instance.

Why would you want to solo in this game? Its not as if anyone can steal your loot. Everyone gets their own loot.

I see no to play this game in solo. Mission completion go actually faster in coop.

As some say you can queue private mission.

I prefer solo for most things as well. Sometime you just don't want to see other people. Sometimes you want to test your skills. Sometimes I don't like to feel like I was carrying OR leeching and just have fun. Doesn't really matter that it's slower, it's about fun, not efficiency, have enough of that enough in RL.

Yes. Game is designed as 4 player coop looter shooter. Very similar to Warframe for example. You can probably solo most of the game, but it will be harder, slower, grindier and sometimes frustrating, I wouldn't recommend it for the long run.

It has however rather seamless hop-in hop-out system so while you'll be meeting players a lot, you won't have to interact with them most of the time. Even if you're lone wolf, I think you won't mind the PvE here.

afaik, other than hanged man, everything in the game is soloable. you can even make the map you are on private (before entering it)
