Anyone using the High-Power weapons?
Shotguns, Sniper, Launcher. Whenever I try to make them work, I use them for like 20 seconds, aaand then the ammo is already dry. And enemies are really stingy with that ammo, so what is the trick here?

I found a conversion mod, every 120 special ammo I get 1 High-Power ammo, for 16 mod points, and leveling only changes the mod costs, so that is anything but convenient.

Are there any tricks to reliably use these weapons for more than 1 encounter?

they dont seem to be made for normal fights. I had few sniper rifles that rolled good mods and they would absolutly chunk on level bosses when hit in weak spot.
There's some mods and some heroes wich can give free shots.
They do deal nice damage, but how are you supposed to get your ammo in a Colossi fight? Darn King Fishers aren't exactly the most generous enemies
I guess the mod that replenish ammo when you pick up other ammo is mandatory (lvl 1 cost 16 mod slots and it reduces the cost when you upgrade)
I think the rate is something like 1 ammo every 150 "other ammo"

Well, this is literally what I wrote in my opening post :D And it doesn't help at all as this still requires me to use other weapons most of the time
nope, ammo economy for those weapons is not good, its better to use normal weapons

oupsi indeed, I opened several post and read in diagonal :ScoutSheep:
Bummer. It would help if these weapons wouldn't occupy a weapon slot...

If you're referring to the 3 slots for equipped weapons, you can have any weapon type in any slot, three regular, 3 power, 2 power and 1 impact etc
I only really use them against elites and bosses, or priority targets.
Oh, I know we can freely change those, but I really can't imagine to let a MG or a Scout-rifle at home for a Launcher. I guess I don't really need a special weapon since Tactical Rifles kinda suxx a bit compared to MG's

Tac rifles have higher weakpoint damage overall, while MG is better for sweeping trash out of the way. I don't know why but, I always default to the same mind set with that weapon as I do with power weapons.

mm its not working precisely as described. unless Special Rounds drop in packs of 120 and i never noticed lol

The only way to get the ammo conversion to work is to actively pull out the gun.
As an example, With my launcher using the Special conversion, Walking over Special ammo does nothing.
If i have the launcher out, it returns 1 High Power shot per Special pickup.

Same applies to the Ammo Max mods that dont appear to be working, You need to pull out your Impact gun and loot some ammo to get the boosted max, If the weapon is stowed, it wont pickup ammo beyond the default cap.

It wont provide enough ammo in a boss fight for sustained 'main usage' (They're not intended to be main guns, hence why High Power guns have insane damage per shot) but the conversion does keep enough ammo banked between burst phases that you can take advantage of openings to chunk a boss.
If I am just playing willy nilly I will use them on anything once I have a full clip worth of ammo. Otherwise I use a launcher to cover for Ajax's poor mob clear or whatever high power weapon if waiting on cool downs and want to deal damage.

You can also use snipers to insta kill humming birds in Intercepts.
Waste of space in colossus fights. You will run out of ammo.
