best overall character ?

so since we are limited to the character slot and mats to farm etc ( not gonna pay 70$ for a character or some mats ) im was wondering who is the best overall character like all around

so far i have ajax , bunny and valby unlocked

i love the bunny gameplay and character its fun but as the game progress her scaling is bad and she get useless and is too squishy so she seem like a bad endgame character and she is mostly good only at quick farming the overworld

ajax was my free starting character and while he seem solid im not much a tank player

valby was my first farmed character and she is super fun but she is very bad in boss fight and in some other situation

so im wondering , before i start farming for hours some low % mats , which character you guys think could tackle every type of content in the game. it doesn't need to be S tier at everything but at least not a huge drop like bunny or valby.

also are support character worth playing as a main ?

I never play the best character because that is monkey see a monkey do . I always go for one of the lesser characters to make that character that does not get enough love and turn it into the best for me and my playstyle . In the long run that is what matters . I do not believe in playing something everyone goes . Example : I will not touch bunny . She was super easy to play and is probably the best character to like everyone that plays her . I personally prefer to play hard characters that people 70% of the player base doesn't even try . To me the best character/class in this game is what you make of it . Anyone that says that is wrong is full of it . Because In the long run it's a matter of how you build your character .

Many players go based off what youtubers and streamers say in terms of ranking in tiers . But to be blunt the best character is only going to come from your experience handling that character that suits you . Not every youtuber or streamer has taken the time to try every single possibility per character . Also have to keep in mind the best characters are in fact just opinionated . Want facts ? Then experience is the way to learn what is best and mainly best for you . For experience the best way to find what you seek . All it takes is a little effort and time .

Go Ajax and you can beat the entire game standing still, absorbing anything they throw at you. DPS is meaningless when you spend most of your time staying alive. In Hardmode you will never see a party without him either.

Ajax. Even solo you can do basically anything in the game, as you are borderline immortal if you play conservatively. No decent group will scoff at having Ajax in it either, so kind of a win-win.

Admittedly it's not always exactly thrilling gameplay, as the safest way to play it is to encase yourself in immortality, stand your ground and shoot enemies as if you were a turret.

Is a floormate because they "gift" her and literally 99% of the noobs are using it .
Its an insanelly good character , even mroe the ultimate that have access to the exclusive mod .... it melts bosses .

There is no better option than bunny if you dont wanna pay ... she speeds A LOT the farming part of the game and if you build it right it can be very good at bosses (not the best but really good)

i didnt mean it as the best character but the best at being all around. some character are insanly good at 1 thing but bad at others etc

in the end i picked up Enzo , with his infinite ammo ult i can use launcher for aoe and sniper/shotgun for high priority target/boss while being usefull to the team

Bunny is the best farming nuke, get her first, power her up, get good build and then farm all others like ult viessa etc. Bunny makes your gameplay loop so much faster. Also for boss fights, get Gley because she is ammo goddess.

I love playing Freyna. Might not be in Bunny's realm of damage output, but I can get right in the middle of a huge pack of mobs and literally melt them, while my high Defense gives me great survivability. Not the "best" but extremely consistent and useful for many boss encounters. Lepic is my character I switch to iif Freyna isn't a viable option due to resistances. I'm still working on obtaining other Descendants, but so far, I really enjoy the playstyle of these 2.

Best for story: Ajax, but others can be useful depending on the mission type
Best for Special Operations: Bunny / Ultimate Bunny (mainly earlier waves)
Best for Void Intercepts: Just about anyone other than Bunny
Best for fan service: Bunny / Ultimate Bunny or Valby

Best overall: Ajax

Freyna for me. Mob clear and boss melting damage with her 4. Multiply her hp and the on kill 9% heal. I will die on this hill when she goes into obscurity niche. Solo, in multiplayer she may fall behind due to lack of mobility, self defence and dot damage being pointless if you have aoe clear characters like bunny killing everything so you end up being a boss chunker with her 4, maybe.
