Upgrading weapons (Thunder Cage)

So, I researched the Thunder Cage, and it's absolutely crap, that's the whole point, I get it.

You should upgrade it, for it to be good, but I don't completely understand it...

You can upgrade this weapon by using a different weapon, and sort of combining them. But, shouldn't you just use Sniper Rifles? Because it seems to only copy Damage...

How does this work exactly?

You can upgrade a lower level weapon with a higher level weapon to get the level up. It doesn't copy anything from the source weapon, it just brings the weapon to a new level. The stats for a weapon are fixed at a level. So choose whatever weapon you don't plan to use as source material. Doesn't matter what kind.

1-You have weapon transmission which you need a phase exchanger and another weapon of higher level to combine it with Thunder Cage, mine is at level 22 currently and will upgrade it to level 40 or 35 ASAP.

2-You need to upgrade the capacity of the weapon by reaching level 40, the Descendant instructor gives you a free upgrade capacity item which you can use on your descendant or weapon, since I bought Ultimate bunny it came with a free capacity increase item, I used it on UB, now the level 40 quest free reward I used it on thunder cage weapon to increase the capacity of modules it can equip. Higher levels of upgraded modules in the weapon needs more capacity and in turn gives you more performance. I go for high crit damage and crit rate. Rinse & repeat with other weapons.

for example your thunder cage is level 1, do a weapon transmission, pick your thunder cage to increase it's level then pick a weapon that's the highest level you have (any high level you see fit) and combine them, you will need the item phase exchanger which you can research with Anais to get one.

If your thunder cage is level 1, and you transfer a sniper with weapon level 20, it becomes level 20 and gets its stats increased.
