You cant unlock all descendants without paying for extra "roster slots"
you are limited to 10 and have to pay 50 "caliber" per each extra slot to expand it to a maximum of 28 costing 900 "caliber". This is a stupid burden to force on people to make them pay money and will only get worse when more content gets added.

Brah 10 for a start is good and they will give you plenty of freebies by the time you hit 10 descendants

Spend that extra 50 on a 5th slot then. My point still stands that they've given us quite a good starting limit on a free to play game. Anyone who is playing long enough to own that many characters should at least be considering giving the devs some money for their game.

It's worth noting anyways, just like Warframe there's gonna be classes you just don't vibe with. Max their level for the mastery and delete 'em, keep the ones you like. The 10 limit is very generous and I doubt anyone will really have an issue with it unless they're dead set on collecting them all purely for the sake of collecting them.

It is:
Play all you like till we feel we've earned some money.

Vs:
Play all you like without restrictions and feel free to spend when you feel like getting something.

When that's your competition, it just makes TFD look bad. And its on more counts than just one where TFD is just straight up worse.

This means in total you only really need to own 14 to have them all. That's only 4 over the 10 starting limit, on a free to play game.

If you've somehow farmed all of those, you've probably been playing and enjoying the game enough to warrant spending a couple bucks buying the extra slots.

200 caliber for 4 slots, you can buy 250 caliber for under £4. Hardly breaking the bank if you're THAT invested into the game you own all characters.
While you are correct, that argument will never work. For some reason there is this contingent of players that believe a free to play game should never make money. They'll usually say that it should be cosmetic only, but complain that there isn't enough free cosmetics either.

You can play all you like. You don't need 11+ characters. Keep the 10 you actually like, drop the rest as mastery fodder. The same way you have to in WF. WF is FAR more restrictive with WF and weapon slots.

Here is the thing. If you have zero intention of even spending 50 caliber, then Nexon dont care about you. You arent a customer, you're just a filthy parasite in their eyes. Its Nexon, you should have known how it would be when you installed the game. Your only value is to boost launch day numbers and steamchart numbers so they can look good and they have succeeded in their mission.
Now they don't need you. Even if you leave, they will just write you off as normal attrition. As long as people are buying these $50 or $100 bundles, they arent going to listen to complaints about 50 caliber class slots.

Right now we have hard cap here for free players.
Is there no way in the game to gain new slots by just playing?

Uhm, are you familiar with the game at all? In Warframe you have multiple methods to acquire extra slots, you can easily get multiple a day should you need.

And come on really? Delete chatacters you spend hours grinding? No way.

Point is, this is a downgrade through and through.

As of currently, not that i know of. They are planning to introduce trading so i hope that will become the method, mixing MTX into the in game economy is a great way to open things up, removing any paygates, and allowing the acquisition of items you're having trouble getting your hands on.

But until then F2P gets shafted.

Well the game just released. I'm taking it easy and will only play every now and then. If you're ftp and want to farm the living daylight out of this game then yes you're going to get stuck. Trading didn't exist in Warframe on release either. It was introduced a year after.

warframe let you trade plat to get more and even give you slot for free with event ...

warframe is like 12 years old, do you know how long it took DE to start gifting slots and reactors? and even then it's like once or twice a year, let's not act like warframe is a non-profit lol

and trading is coming to TFD

I have 800 hours into WF, but it's been a good 5 years since I played. But again, fodder items/frames are a thing that exist in both games. If you believe everyone is keeping every WG and weapon that they leveled and not deleting them to make room for new ones then I would ask you the same question. Uhm, are you familiar with the game at all?

Seriously. The game was practically unplayable without spending money for like the first 8 years. And even then you were grinding for items to trade to other players for plat. That just means you are spending other peoples money, money is still being spent.

There's also free gifts in warframe and there's plat being handed out as well, but it's true there will be people spending money and then people trading for the currency they spent on it. But it allows 2 things. 1. It allows the game to exist. 2. It allows FTP players to play completely free. So it's a win-win. There's no game that has 0 income that exists.

What we mostly did in Warframe was to unlock the normal variant when it came out and then delete it to get the Prime variation, once that got released. No need to keep both variations around.

Other than that, it is quite unlikely that you play every character, so if you're really so adamant to not pay a single penny onto a game you need to play for like 50+ hours to even unlock so many chars, then you'Ve to set priorities. Half your chars will most likely collect dust anyway, if they don't fit your playstyle. Though at this point, paying 10 € to get enough space might be fair towards the devs as well.

As of now, the game don't really need it to be honest. The amount of characters is still low enough to manage it relatively good, even as a free player. Though i wouldn't be surprised, if they eventually start to hand out slots in events or free battle passes, but you shouldn't expect them to give you more slots than new chars getting released.
