hatchery map actually completly awfull
Its impossible to navigate anywhere, couple with a useless map and a waypoint system that doesnt work its litterly physically painfull to navigate the hatchery map...

only place i know how to get to in there is the void reactor

spawn on the south spawn, go over the big bridge and make 2 lefts. boom its right there

(might have the 2 lefts wrong, going off memory here)

Most areas/maps in TFD are fine to navigate but Hatchery is absolute mess. The map layout is terrible as it is a lot of hallways connecting large rooms that often run nowhere and suddenly end. There is no loop around the map, you go the wrong way means you will be backtracking in your steps.
This maps makes me wish for way-point system and navigational line that would tell you where to go (this is not necessary elsewhere).

Another thing making this map even worse is the reactor commander in this map--this guy (flaming orb in fact) is absolute jerk with massive health pool, some weird mechanic that gives me damage resistance at times and no reasonable way to get new ammo other than dying to it repeatedly. Trying to solo it is foolish attempt unless you have decked out character with best weapons.

This map is just bad.

It's okay, especially if you have experience with playing old school game without any map overlay or even indicators. I guess people with bad sense of direction suffers the most.

Pray you don't have to "Enzo" the area for encrypted vaults. On the bright side, you will never ever get lost in there after a couple of runs of pinging the vault

It has nothing to do with sense of directions. The issue is the map has so many dead ends, there are no high points you can get to and overview the map like most of other maps. There are no loops to progress around the map, it is just a bunch of indoor large rooms connected by empty corridors.

The map was fine during campaign as you were given directions where to go and followed quest markers. The situation is different when you come back there in end-game for some farming. You will have to re-explore the area and find ways to get those points of interests like the reactor. Once you find it, it is usually not an issue to get back but the whole map is not very intuitive compared to the rest of maps in the game.

Lastly, the map need more supply droids for ammo. The reactor commander has massive health pool and I usually can duo two of them before I have to go back to outpost to get ammo and than travel back, which is just annoying.

That stupid fire orb boss is really the worst outpost boss in the game. Not the hardest but awfully annoying with tons of health pool on top of that. It also worse that barely anyone farming this.

To me it's not the dead end hallways that irk me but the verticality of the hatchery itself. There's like 3 or 4 whole levels to it and two of them look exactly the same while the top floor is just a spiral with a bunch of empty rooms so once you start looking for vaults on floors that are not at ground level or just exploring in general it's easy to lose track of where the exits are and from there you lose the whole sense of direction aswell.

If you're only there for the reactor or Bio-Lab mission terminal then just walk through the main entrance and the mission terminal is straight to the right while the reactor you need to go forward then turn right into a small hallway entrance. Eitherway they're both on the main floor right side so, hard to miss.

When I did the map during the story campaign, I did it over 2 gaming sessions and each time I was pulled towards the end of the missions when I joined them in-progress, so I still have no idea where everything is in that map.

Tried to get to the Void Fusion Reactor last week and took me almost 20 minutes getting lost in the structure lol

This is one place I almost always use terminals on Albion to get to the missions.

The missions are long and traversing it outside of them is confusing. At least I found the most optimal way to the void reactor... although the boss there is a horrendous POS.
