Try Restarting(not shutting down, if you absolutely have to choose shutdown instead of restart, then Hold-Shift while you click the shutdown button, this will include what is done when you choose restart, but instead shut the computer down) your computer to clear Nvidia shader cache. Thats probably the issue. As you likely got kicked out of the game several times yesterday due to the server issues, a small corruption likely formed, or it didn't properly get cleared on exit.
PS: So many doom say'ers, that just don't understand UE5 is a next gen engine, that doesn't work that well on current hardware. When the next GPU's, and CPU generations come out, UE5 will run much better.
That is not true at all man. It is not rocket science to understand this stuff. There are plenty of people who all of a sudden have issues and others who do not. I happen to be one that it was running great and then all of a sudden the shader load screens are an issue. This is not a case of user error on my side. It is something that changed and now I have an issue.
fixed by setting my nvidia cache to unlimited
now back to running completely fine
Nah I have not seen anything truthful about that. Mainly people making assumptions that its a crypto miner, and I do not believe that at all.
It's "normal" for the game to use 100% of your CPU when starting the game to build shaders and it will do so again if you update your GPU drivers.
I'm running on older hardware i7-10700k and RTX3080TI and I'm not having issues with 100% CPU use. Just bad fps due to bad optimization.
> BTW i dropped everything to low and its still terrible.
actually put everything on ULTRA. I found it better that way. (so it uses more GPU than CPU)
Yeah, constant 100% CPU usage on a specific core. The game absolutely needs to be optimized.
Enable NVidia DSLL if you have it too
Would you possibly know what would cause there to be an issue when before there was not? I legitimately am curious. Same crap happened with Diablo 4 for me. By the numbers there should not have been an issue but there was and then poof it worked . It went from running like dog water to running fantastic. I do believe this is something on their end. Clearly, some are not going to see any problems. Thats just how the pc master race works lol. I am currently playing with increasing the size to see what setting works better.
i think we peaked. might want to go back
I did bro and it helped a tad. DLSS I mean.
Ehh I just think something needs to be worked out. WHat? No clue..but UE5 runs fine on my rig. I am in no way a doom say'er at all. Also, I never got kicked yet at all. Like I said it is only on the load screens. Game runs great in between.
ps: yeah did the shader cache clearing ...trying increasing it atm..testing that
***fixed by setting nvidia cache to unlimited
you have 20 fps? ouch. I am just showing issues on the shader comp. While I am playing its butter.
See I am not having fps issues at all. It is just the shader screens taking longer then before. Can you explain why something would be fine before and not after? Specs do not matter in that situation. Period. If something changed on their end and affected a large portion of the community then its their goof.
I fixed it by increasing the shader cache to unlimited.
If people want to make the "PC specs" argument, here's the official steam page recommended settings:
Processor: Intel i7-7700K / AMD Ryzen 5 2600X
Memory: 16 GB RAM
Graphics: GeForce RTX 2060 or AMD Radeon RX 5600XT
How is a PC better than the trash in the recommended not being able to run things smoothly and has to hit 100% CPU usage?
