Yes, but the resistance level is a lot lower than what you'd get for a dedicated element mod.
For target void boss, it's better with dedicated single element module as it has way higher resistance value.
When you have inventory open Press W and it brings up all your stats.
Same for "DEF"
What does 100 or 10000 DEF actually *do*?
I killed Executioner (102 lvl) in group, with 10 resistances only, but I had 28k Defence and about 1k HP and Shield. That's all.
But it might help you to survive on bosses, so i recommend you collect some items for resist for each type of damage, and replace item when necessary.
Noone actually has the formula aside from the devs, unless someone datamined it somewhere. What we do know is that your defense value is compared to the enemy attack value to determine your damage reduction, and the cap is 80% reduction. If we knew the enemy attack values, we could work out the math, but we don't.
As far as I understand it, blocks damage completely, but only blocks up to 80% damage. So if you have Defence = 25000, and if the opponent hits you for 25000 damage, you will only get 5000 damage (20% of 25000). And even if you have 50000 Defence and the opponent still hits you for 25000 damage, you will still get 5000 damage, because it's 20% of 100% damage.
But if you have 25000 Defence and an opponent hits with 100000 damage, you will take 75000 damage.
