Not Claiming to know ANYTHING
With the issue being MS servers why cant they just cease the game for those that use MS servers and allow players on steam / PSN who I would assume don't use MS servers to connect to the game the ability to play?
Does this whole thing really hinge on 1 of the 3 player pools to even function?

They might have part of their database (or all of it) on Azure.

the actual game servers themselves run off the MS side, so they cant just have steam and ps do their own thing, all of it runs off MS, we just connect to it. i didnt even know this azure thing was a thing though

I've seen posts where people are claiming Flight Sim and other MS games are down ATM too, you sure it's not MS servers? I didn't look into it, just asking.

Because the entire game runs on the Microsoft Azure servers, not only the Xbox version. Microsoft also rents the server outside Xbox Live services.

The FIrst Descendant is not the only game that is affected, also first party games like Sea of Thieves, Forza and Flight Simulator showing similar problems on Xbox aswell on PC.

Yes it is, more games are offline that are running on the Microsoft Azure server.

The MS servers you speak of are a cloud infrastructure called Azure. It's not specific users using it. It is the game itself. Companies pay Microsoft to use their infrastructure. It is scaleable, meaning a whole bunch of servers working together as one. The services themselves are probably distributed. Meaning there's probably a content delivery server, an account server etc. There is no way around it without creating your own server farm which would cost much more than using Azure services.

Microsoft being one of the biggest gaming companies on the face of the earth, and still can't get their ♥♥♥♥ together, gotta love capitalism

A lot of companies use this at least to start the game off as it can be scaled quickly, then when the player count levels off after release they get a more realistic stable number of servers to bring down cost.

it is about validating patches and such, MS is using a rather hard to use system for crossplay and that messes things up, ps also use it but stopped because of how trouble some it could be, it isnt really the server it self but the patches/validating patches wich trouble the Devs currently.
from my knowledge.

This is essentially what I assume as well. We won't know unless they tell us themselves tho.

Sony signed a deal to use MS Azure. This means that Sony, MS Xbox, and PC are all using the same cloud infrastructure. This is why players across the board are being affected by the same issue.

Sony did not invest in their own cloud and signed with MS to make developers happy. Developer only need to target MS Azure instead of MS Azure plus Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud Compute when developing multi-platform games.

again not claiming to know anything other than when they it was an issue with MS servers (correction- MS Network) https://tfd.nexon.com/en/news/2596610 but i havnt seen any updates on a culprit from the update page. So im willing to "try again" when they actually reveal info that isn't pointed at the MS Network. Thank you so much you are helpful and cool.

Absolutely you have to love capitalism or we wouldn't even have a company called Microsoft. Capitalism has nothing to do with their services not working right now. Quit bashing on things for your propaganda, especially when it makes you look like a turd for not knowing what you're talking about.
