I had the same problem. I recently uninstalled TFD and did a reinstall because I was changing the cpu on my PC. Now when I try to open it gives me the "Failed to open descriptor file ../../../M1/M1.uproject" error. It seems this problem also occurs with Valorant players aswell. I am still looking for a fix, but I would suggest seeing what the Valorant community did.

Go to properties and validate/verify files, once completed, game should run
