Its 40 per descendant and I think mastery rank max is 30? So its what 40x15 or something like that right so max level is 600? lol

I agree level cap at 40 does seems a little too low, If I remember well even in original WoW cap was 60...

Cause you need to regrind the levels when you try to add mod polarities to your character.

you reset your level "technically" the level cap is 200 or 240 since you need to do 5-6 resets to slot the char to reach "max level".

you prestige the descendant at 40 to slot more efficiently the modules

so you need to hit 40 like 10 times or something per descendant

If they capped it at 100 you'd be asking the same thing. When does it stop? What is the line on the hill your fighting on? (small hill btw... you should choose bigger and better hills to fight for!)

You can apply a polarity on a mod slot and reset back to 0... you can do this multiple times. And this is per character as well...

The game is closed, there is no level cap at all or game for that matter.

Because they are basically forcing people to use more than one class so you level one to 40 then the next and on and on and on.
They plan to release more which you will also need but they make it hard to farm so you get your credit card out and buy them.
If you could have just one class that is able to do all content with different loadouts etc then sure you could increase the level cap but they know that people will pay for a class rather than farm for hours or days.
Its not a bad game just not good because they put pay walls in it instead of good content.
