High Cpu Usage
Please help!!
Specs: Ryzen 7 7800X3D, 32gb Kingston Ram, Geforce rtx 4080 with a Msi Mag Mobo (windows 11)

having extremely high cpu usage, 100% of the Cpu and 80% Gpu are being used by the first Descendant (according to Nvidia overlay and task manager) but the temps are in good range, between 60 - 70 cel.

have tried everything, no virus's, re installed windows, uninstalling, and reinstalling shaders.

has anyone else had this issue or similer?

I think this game CPU heavy. My CPU is much worse that yours, so I'm not going to have a good time either.

If temps are low then ur fine.

UE5 is cpu heavy and it will kneecap it.

Shouldn't we be glad about games finally making full use of our hardware?

If there was a benefit yeah, but there is no benefit the game does not look new gen nor most UE5 games so no

my Ryzen 3 2200G was between 92, 95, 100% this game was optimized with the ass.
I have a R5 3600 with a 6700xt, I played with Ultra settings at 1440p, the game seems to have a fetish for CPUs. Even at Raytracing maxed the CPU usage is still high, so theres no way to make this game Not CPU bound. Even with Faster CPUs like the 7800x. Kinda crazy, so nexon needs some work to do.

Not to mention with my Macro auto clicker for the game seems to stutter a lot with Burst rifles 😕

My 12900k only runs with 20-25% on 4k Ultra and my 4090 runs with 98%

Could just be a Ryzen CPU issue then? not Intel?

Yep micro stuttering & 100% cpu usage but temp only 59%

9700k is an older cpu but above the recomended specs.

Thats not how it works. If a game uses that much of your CPU then there is something wrong with optimization.

Check from the BIOS that you haven't disabled SMT. Google where to find this option if you don't know. SMT is simultaneous multithreading and you should always keep it enabled.

If it's enabled, you could edit your Windows power plan. From it's advanced power settings, click on Processor power management, then on the minimum. Set it to something like 85%, and the maximum to 95%. Click apply and ok.

This will bring the CPU temps down, but it'll make the game more GPU bound, and then you might need to lower some of the graphics settings to avoid your GPU fans blowing at insane speeds if you don't like that.

I have the 7800X3D processor (with the RTX 4080 GPU) and I recommend switching on the X3D Turbo mode in the BIOS, if available, when playing in 4K/Ultra/RT Ultra/DLSS Quality mode/FG.

I was so suprised to see that the turning off SMT (this is what X3D Turbo mode actually does) helps so much in such configuration. Very frequent "hiccups"/slowdowns, which affects FG in a very characteristic way, was almost completely eliminated in my case.

DSOGaming verified this as well, that in this particular game 8C/8T config works better than 8C/16T:
