Greg?!
So they make this big bad-ass looking boss, and they name him Greg? Of all the things they could have named him, Greg is what they decided..

Greg, the destroyer of worlds, obliterator of planets, swallowing star-systems whole… All while saying “Just call me Greg, no need for titles”.

Sounds scary to me, if I’m being honest :D

But then again, what can u expect from a game where parents would name their daughter “Bunny”. And yes, it’s an in-lore fact(from her personal quest) that Bunny is her NAME, not alias/nickname/callsign.

So Greg it is.

Ohhh, I thought Bunny was her alias, that would have been better.

I laughed when I saw the subtitle in the mission he announced his presence. Greg, of all names. Gregus or something would have been a bit better. It has Tim the Sorcerer from Monty Python energy

Please keep the name. Greg is the only bad guy aside from Karel and Amon that I can actually remember the name of. Oh, and Seudo.

The devs are very open about the fact that they've taken a ton of inspiration from other games; Destiny 2 being one of them. In the Red War campaign (the og campaign of that game when it was first released) the final boss's name is Ghaul. In one of the trailers for the game, teasing the Red War campaign, Cayde-6 makes a joke where he forgets Ghaul's name and calls him several other names including Greg. The Destiny 2 community immediately adopted the joke and turned into a widespread meme, refusing to refer to the character by his canon name even in serious discussions, only ever calling him Greg.
the TFD devs obviously have a lot of care and respect for the IPs that inspired them, so they're showing that by making an obvious reference as an easter egg to their "source material" if you will. Is it silly and a bit immersion-breaking? Yeah, but that's the point. Games aren't supposed to be some cut and dry serious thing. They're supposed to be fun and have dumb goofy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ like this. Because dumb goofy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is fun.
Let people have fun.

Well if that is the reason for chosing the name Greg, then that makes it much better.

Hilariously mundane names, but I still love it.
I'd guess AI assigned all names to everyone in this game and Nexon clicked "OK".
