Why do people compare this to warframe?
I don't see the resemblance... is it cause of the 3rd person? If anything I think this game gives off more destiny vibes. Overall though the game is mediocre but the visuals are nice the landscapes are cool I wish they were more open though. If this was a open world game it would have been crazy. Anyways I digress... so yeah... warframe... meh.

Edit: Having it brought to my attention I now see all of your points and why people compare this to warframe. And all of you are right... I don't know why I didn't see it before but I do see it now. Thank you all for your input.

For me it looks like a mixture of both. Warframe and Destiny. The mission design with specific drop tables, different descendants, the research system and the weapon mods are very warframe.

The ammo types, lobby (Albion) and inventory system are very Destiny.

Modding system (complete with polarities and “aura” slot that increases capacity), pre-determined characters with abilities themes around something(similar to warframes), plus elemental damage from mods(status) and chance to to trigger them(status effects and chance increased via moddinng). Among other few things…

There are similarities. Hence why people compare them. To Warframe and Destiny 2.

The research system, weapon + character mods, and the amorphous materials are all 1:1 copies of Warframe progression systems. How ammo, HP, MP, and skills work are all also basically 1:1 identical to Warframe gameplay systems. Basically the entire core of the game is Warframe.

It's literally warframe + destiny copy. Of course people are gonna compare endlessly. This situation was similar to Back 4 Blood. Not to mention, Guide is literally Lotus at certain degrees lol, sure art direction is different but gameplay, mechanics etc etc are warframe + destiny. You copy something similar, get ready to get compared non-stop, whether bad or good, depends on that game itself.

Either you play this or play warframe which is run by a bad company which just destroys other games and takes players money without shame. Digital Extreme is a really bad company its sad that a warframe came from scum like them.

It’s an amalgamation of ideas from Destiny, Warframe, Outriders and Borderlands, mashed together, then dipped into the same barrel of stilleto-heeled combat armor’n’boob-window artstyle as any other Korean MMO.

Of course people will compare, ESPECIALLY fanboys who don’t want competition to their favorite product. Even if said competition isn’t trying to take away attention from them, just offer an extra alternative… as side-dish, if you may.
You must be joking literally everything is stolen from warframe.

1. You got Descendents, and ultimate versions. This is just normal and prime versions in warframe.

2. You grind parts and blueprints to make a character or item, same as warframe.

3. The module system is literally just the mod system in warframe.

4. The prices for spending money are exactly the same.

5. The enemy weakness', damage types, ect are the same.

6. The characters are basically the same. A lot of the moves are straight up reskins of warframe moves. The 2nd character has vauban move to suck in enemies and suspend them for example.

They just renamed everything, added random stats on gear and called it a new game. The things in warframe that are not here are simply not here to lower our power, so they can add that later over time. Things like melee weapons, pets, sliding, crouching, bullet jumping, special variants of mods, like rivens and prime variants, likely ultimate mods.

Progression is definitely Warframe, I would say the maps and gameplay feels more like destiny minus first person. This does some things better than them while also doing others worse. I had fun in Warframe because of its movement felt fluid and bullet jumping just felt right with speed farming. I found destiny empty but it's gunplay good. As it stands I'm having fun and that's what we play games for.

I feel like ur only saying this because of what happened with wayfinder. Wayfinder was a good game but it was suppose to go f2p and still hasn't which has screwed the company over.

1. The module system is extremely similar to warframe's mod system

2. High movement & character based
2b. Characters have 3 "parts" and a main BP
2c. Characters have a golden upgraded version (Warframe have primes, this has ultimates) which changes the looks and upgrades a stat or two a bit above the normal version

3. looter shooter genre with a third person perspective
Tictactucrac Jul 3, 2024 @ 5:42am
Literally the same genre of game, same gameplay and very similar mechanics.

If you see resemblance with Destiny how do you not see it with warframe, since Destiny and Warframe are literal competitors in the same genre ?

Care to elaborate?

For those who have played Destiny and Warframe, The First Descendant is a poorly made copy with poor gameplay. It will be worth it if one day the game is as well optimized as Destiny and Warframe are. At the moment, the low quality of the graphics even in 4K hurts your eyes.
Jayaos Jul 3, 2024 @ 6:35am
Reminds me more of Outriders.

I've played both the usual comparisons a lot and gotten sick of both. I don't see it as poorly made, it's a nice change. Just not sure how egregious the grind for materials will be yet after only 10 hours.

It's easy to compare this to warframe because of how the game is designed. The creators of First Descendant obviously took a lot of inspiration from Warframe. You get characters with 4 special abilities and the way you get these is by gaining materials to craft them. You have mods and mod capacity on both your character and your weapons. Some of the mission types are very reminiscent of Warframe. There's probably more similar, but honestly after playing it it really doesn't remind me of warframe.

In Warframe you are a lot more mobile with a lot more interesting abilities and weapons. Allows for very different way of playing and game flow. First Descendant looks better and I like the aestetics a lot, but the gameplay, weapons and abilities are super basic. And that's fine though. Hey at least it's not like Wuthering Waves that basically used Honkai Star Rail's code base and built a new game on top of it. Renamed some things and called it a day. Now THAT game is a copy. But in China they're cool if you steal other people's stuff. So there's that.
