No crashes, just lag when running around in the Albion hub.
Geforce now ultimate - ultra details - 1440p - +-80 fps but sometimes it dropped to around 30 fps when a lot of enemies on screen.
But i like the game, if icompared to warframe i prefer this one.
A few people are just not happy with the monetization, performance issue related to their borked PC or crazy identity politics.
There are 200k peak concurrent players after all...
For reference, getting ultimate characters would take around 4000h. Yes. 4000h (160 days).
Obviously that's, no pun intended, "ultimate" character. But then keep in mind that certain content is essentially gated from you with paying, or being insane.
The regular descendands aren't as bad, but the grind is still high, like 10s and 100s of hours.
And then all crafting is time gated. Even if you need to just merge your weapons you need to wait for mats to be made.
There are also tons of things that boosts drop rates and so on, so again, it kinda incentivizes you to pay or grind way, way more.
I would say just try it out if you don't mind wasting some of the time. The game can be decently fun in the beginning, because you fight bunch of bosses for the first time and getting new characters fast due to story.
I personally can't imagine playing past once I kill all bosses (or I might even drop it bafore that, since so far it seems all of them have almost identical mechanics), since there are so many looter games in the market that respect your time more and per hour fun is higher. I don't think any part of this game outside of graphics is good enough to be better than competition. It's just kinda average at everything.
And when it comes to developer... Yeah... It's the publisher that's the issue. Nexon is known for predatory monetization and milking their franchises to death. Just read reviews under MapleStory to see what people think. The main problem with their published games is that it always first and foremost feels like it's designed around you buying stuff and gameplay and user experience is secondary. In fact user experience is inentionally made worse, until you pay.
It's one of those things where it's "technically" earnable, but if you crunch the math some of the things are pretty bad. As in THOUSANDS of hours of grind bad.
So I would say some things are realistically earnable in game, but portion is locked under insane grind that's not really realistic.
GENERIC.
It has the destiny 2 zones where you group up with other players online and do the same quest: defend a control point from waves of enemies, loot enemies that drop something and deliver to point A, kill waves of enemies, kill a boss that has a force field so you have to repeat the same process 3 times before you can actualy kill it. Then get a cutscene, repeat. New zone, do 3-4 quest, kill a boss, cutscene. repeat.
Some of the best bosses (with weak spots) are lock in mission you can do in Albion. I did not care.
+ Bunny can be unlock pretty fast. (that's a good thing)
I never look at my weapons. I only equip the ones that have the best damage and turn the others into materials.
SO FAR....... It's BORING AS *******.
You would think having DESTINY 2, THE DIVISON and WARFRAME, they would do something different, but no.
I will play a little longer, but doesn't look good.
PS: make sure when you launch the game to go make yourself a coffe or snack, because the loading times are as bad as Anthem. *God forgive me for naming that horrible game*.
The game is fun to play though, trying out new characters etc.
Not entirely sure how /grindy/ it is regarding currency as of right now.
You can purchase components to unlock/research a new character. These are pretty expensive (early on?) and then if you have all components you can research the character for like 600K-ish credits.
The game has a lot of potentional, but as far as I can tell early game seems to be unbalanced regarding bosses and TTK in general, but there are fun missions/gamemodes/dungeons.
I personally like the horde/survival mode where you protect a device from being destroyed in waves and every 10 waves you get rewards and the option to keep going.
Characters I've unlocked so far seem to play vastly different from each other and I think late-end game is heavily focused on utilizing each playstyle, character, weapon type and all the modifications to min-max a certain playstyle.
It basically has mods similar to Warframe, but for each weapon type and character can be outfitted with unique components that also change the stats and playstyle fo a character itself.
Cash shop is basically just a Battlepass + being able to purchase components for characters immediately.
