Power usage still spikes extremely high when launching the game.

I made a post about this back when the game was in beta. It causes my 4090 to spike to 450w during the splash screen. The hotspot temp jumps into the 80s too. This is still the only game I have ever played that does this. It doesn't matter if I cap my FPS either.

This game is going to destroy computers. My 12700k spiked to 340w power draw and my 4090 spiked to 458w during the splash screen.

No, it's not going to destroy computers, at all. A piece of software won't magically raise your wattage over your defined limits. If it is, it means it's simply user error, you didn't configure your system properly.

Your computer does what you tell it to do. Go in your BIOS and set the power limits properly. Also, during AVX/AVX2 loads there's going to be higher power draw than normal.

Sure, that's one problem potentially solved. But what exactly is happening during the splash screen to cause that? My FPS is already limited to 60. Nothing should be drawing that much power. This also doesn't stop my GPU from spiking so high.

it is unreal engine 5 .
Even if you download Epic Games Launcher,intall Unreal Engine 5,open the Engine, your Hardware exlodes while you look at a empty world.
This engine will use EVERYTHING your computer has to offer,even if it doesnt need to because the ENGINE is made that way . You have to code and manually set memory usage to a friendly way for your system,but nowadays noone will do so.
