Game not using GPU at all?

Game is using 0% of my GPU, but instead just using all of my CPU to the point I can barely run it on mediocre settings. Anybody know how to fix?

Drivers are up to date, other games work fine, First Descendant just wont use it, tanking my CPU instead

when u say 0% u actually mean it? or is it more like 20 %?

After I saw how much of what it was using and my PC temps going into an uncomfortable range I uninstalled the game. Its VERY clear to me that they hired some coding f*ckups to make this game given how much it will cause even the best PCs to come to a crawl and hit dangerous temps even in menus and loading screens.

Was hoping to try it out going in blind but after seeing what I saw when trying to run it I Alt F4'ed this POS game. Went to look at recent reviews from non gaming legacy media sites and its not painting a pretty picture.

Working fine GPU and CPU wise, just getting random stutters but other than that works ok.

dangerous temperature with loading screen ecc.? are ppl these days only use PC like a console ? bro if u are having temperature issue maybe its time to learn to properly set up your pc

so im not sure if works but... try to go in display setting - graphics , there u will see a list of apps ( the first descendant won't be there tho) u have to click browse and then go into the steam folder... the usuall steamapps-common and select the game .exe , now the game should appear in the list below, press option and select "high performance" with your GPU name ..... gl

Same thing is happening to me, sadly I didn't see any solution yet. Updated my drivers, checked if other games do this too (which they don't), tried setting it to high performance in windows setting, nothing worked so far. The most I get is tiny spikes on my GPU between 1 and 8% but thats super rare. CPU constantly stays at 100% tho. I don't have an amazing PC but this just isn't normal. Hopefully there will be some kind of fix for this soon...

i guess u have integrated GPU ? go in bios and turn it off

Still no luck. Already have integrated graphics turned off, game just refuses to actually use the GPU, even when windows says it should

Im 99% sure, but now windows isnt letting me get at my bios to verify. I cant see integrated graphics in any of my settings, though

try system -> graphics settings (type in the search bar if you cant find it) and turn on hardware accelerated GPU scheduling. i faced the same issue and this fixed it for me.

Dude, thank you so much for this! This is the first thing that actually helped me. CPU usage is still extremely high, but at least I can see the GPU finally doing something. It's such a simple thing too, no idea how I didn't try this before, but anyways, really, thank you!
