I've been trying to figure it out since i wanna buy the skin but also like ... what is it besides a thing above your head? Is it the symbol when youre in the inventory or sum? :esc_skull:

Wrong, it's the scan you do when you press TAB.

It allows you to see enemies' elemental weaknesses and weak spots (in the case of colossi). It also tells you the locations of containers and special interactibles.

That seems reasonable, but is that actually stated somewhere? I can't find any references to this other than this thread.

Does the tutorial cover this? My game crashed during the tutorial and when I logged back in it skipped the whole thing.

The tutorial does tell you about using Ecive to spot colossus breakable parts at the very end but if I recall you can just dps him down and never realise you skiped that part. The game does an awful (read: nonexistant) job at teaching you much of its mechanics... or explaining just what the hell is going on, to start.

I was more interested in the part about TAB showing you the elemental weakness. I can't seem to find that part anywhere else.

That's something I found out on my own through previous research during CBT and now you even got the laboratory (training area) (found next to the modules guy) in Albion where you can confirm it.

If you scan your enemies 2 icons will show up above their heads.

One is the damage type they're vulnerable to (10% added ATK on hit) and your non-crit, non-weakspot, damage numbers will show up green as opposed to white.

Do note that this seems to be a different interpretation of what's stated when you press F1 (details tab) on a weapon; It states Burst beats Pierce beats Crush but that's not at all what's observable (you can even do a private void intercept against the gravewalker and confirm that as long as you match the "Weakspot damage type" you'll get the added damage to all your shots (and no that doesn't seem tied to weakspots only in the case of colossi)); Just match the weapon damage type with the icon and you'll get the 10%. I'm still a bit confused by this but I'm going by what I can see as far as damage goes.

The other is the elemental type they're vulnerable to; they take added damage from any source with that element (not sure what percentage increase yet though).

You can test this out in the training area and verify it using Toxic/Fire/Electric/Chill enhancements. Even though at base they all state an 8% damage conversion you'll see that the one matching the enemy's weakness pulls higher damage numbers after the conversion. You'll also realise certain enemy legions are more resistant to certain elements and that's not stated anywhere sadly.

For anyone interested in the training area and wondering why enemies are dying even though the invincibility toggle is on, simply turn it to off then back on and they should be invulnerable next time you spawn them back in. Just a bug.

The game resets you back on tutorial if you have crashed during it.

You will also know this if youve ever scanned for collosus parts. ^^ someone already explains what it does. And the tutorial does exactly the same. It also reminds you when you fight the first collosus.

🤣 just admit you skipped past it and didnt read.
