Out of Video Memory
So I played in the Crossplay Beta last year, it worked fine on my system. I have a new system which ran the game well.

Now, everything I try to compile shaders, it says "ran out of video memory". I tried turning, on and off, DLSS (which I tend to use) and it's the same issue.

No, I will not underclock my CPU when it works fine on every other game and I stabilized my computer with various stress tests on the settings I have on it now.

Thus, does anyone have any other solutions? For another reference, I played CyperPunk 2077 with Ray Tracing, Ray Reconstruction, and Path Tracing just fine and it ran well.

Or is for some reason, this an optimization issue on the games part? I really hope for a quick patch today then from developers if possible. I can't even start the game.

Its your CPU bro. Google the Intel 13th / 14th gen issues. Intel even admitted the problems a month or so ago. Intel / motherboards are either auto overclocking the 13700k/13900k 14700k/14900k and or pushing too much voltage to the cpu. The only fix is to do a bios update or use XTU software to bump the cpu multiplier down by 2X or until it gets stable.

Doubt it's that, I'm running a 10850k, played once now trying it just crashes. Once it crashes it does an auto copy and this is what it comes to.

LowLevelFatalError [File:D:\GLLive\GLLive\Client\UE5\Engine\Source\Runtime\Core\Private\GenericPlatform\GenericPlatformMemory.cpp] [Line: 241]
Ran out of memory allocating 159744 bytes with alignment 0. Last error msg: The paging file is too small for this operation to complete..

Crash in runnable thread FAsyncLoadingThread

32gb 3600 ram, 10850k and a 4070. Shouldn't have any issues

**New Edit**

Restarted pc and it loaded fine

It's exactly just that for 99% of the folks reporting this specific crash on Unreal Engine 5 as a whole.

The rest of 1% do have other issues, mostly unstable manual OC, actual memory related issues, etc.

Yep! Limiting the frames to the lowest to compile (30fps) and then setting it back to what I need worked, have to do that each launch but just a slight incontinence until they optimize that part.

It doesn't crash only on intel cpu, I have an 7800x3d and a 4090 and I still crash with an out of memory error. Also the game freezes once in a while, it is a game engine issue.

When it says memory, it is talking about your RAM, and the best way to clear this is to do a restart of you system to clear the RAM, had it my self three times yesterday and the only way I got back in was after a reset.

The same issue may occur on AMD CPU-based systems if they are manually overclocked/undervolted, your UEFI/BIOS is using or setting power/current settings/values that do not respect the recommended settings/values specified in the official specs datasheet of your AMD CPU SKU, or your system pagefile size is too short.

Corsair Vengeance i8200
i9-14900KF
PRIME-Z790-P-WIFI
PALIT GAMEROCK RTX 4090
CORSAIR DOMINATOR 64GB

Jrm was right...in my case anyways. Although "The First Descendant" is giving the "Out of Video Memory" error. It very well may be the Intel microcode issue resulting in overvolting cpu and causing this error. I've tried clean installing GPU drivers, increasing virtual memory on all 3 SSD's, updating all drivers while monitoring all core temps with HWINFO 64 and ICUE. Running Cinebench i noticed spikes in voltages triggering Core Thermal Throttling. In BIOS i set PL!, PL2 and core voltage settings from auto to Intel recommended voltages. Solved my problem.
This could probably be solved with a BIOS update but i've tried to update to ASUS latest BIOS that addresses the Intel microcode issue but Corsair uses it's own proprietary BIOS that won't let you install from ASUSl. That's another long story that i'm also waiting on Corsair's poor technical support. So in the meantime....this is the fix that seems to be working great so far.
Hope this helps someone else with the same specs. Good luck!!
