crashing while compiling shaders
i have a 4090 gpu, i7-1300kf, 64 gb ram at 6000hz, 4tb of nvme ssd.
also crashes instantly if I try to launch with ray-tracing on.
& drivers updated.

It's an intel cpu issue, and it happens with a bunch of games, not just this one(has to do with Unreal engine). It's because when shaders are being compiled, it uses too much of your CPU because it's not throttled. My friend was able to temporarily circumvent it by changing his power mode to power saving when launching the game, but to truly fix it you have to go into bios and downclock your cpu.

It definitely is NOT an Intel CPU issue. Because I'm having the same issue on exclusively AMD tech. I have a Ryzen 9 and a Radeon RX7800MXT

It is for the OP.

As for you, did you overclock the CPU ? Is it overheating ? Is the system memory stable ?

To get the gist of it, shader compiling and decompression crashes are virtually always caused by unstable CPU or memory.
