I have the same problem, directx 12 is checked in my dxdiag (directx level 12_2: which mean my video card is capable of directx 12 ultimate)
my specs is: 7800x3d and 4070ti super
win 11 22h2 + new nvidia driver
very pissed

same happened to me too, mine is already directx 12 but still error like above,
i use "-dx11" command it says the game not supported it.

Yep, been trying everything to get it to work and cant find anything to work. gave up for the night and gonna try tomorrow. if not im just gonna wait a few months and try again

Some features used by the game are not support ed on all windows 10 builds. (DirectX12 error is just a general one and doesnt say much)

For those using Windows 10:
"Windows 10 20H1 (build 19041) needs to be at or above .789 in the version number. Other will not support all features.
Windows 10 v1909, v2004 or v20H1 you need to update to latest possible version while Win10 v1809 or v1903 are not supported at all. (Credit to Arc, from Remnant 2)"

For those on Windows 11 - Try updating to the latest version and also make sure you have the most recent video drivers for your card.

THose on older GPU's: it is possible that your GPU may support DX12 but its shader model version might be too low in which case, the GPU is simply too old )

yup I'm having this problem as well. For the past 3 days I've been trouble shooting and if I'm being honest I don't want to give up cause the game looks cool but at the same time I've watched at least 10 tutorials by now
