I hope this can run on Steam Deck
I dont care if I can't play with fancy graphics or it needs a Keyboard and Mouse. I just want to be able to play it on my Deck.

Try moonlight if it doesn't work, steam deck is brilliant but it has got its negatives. I know you said you don't care about graphics but As the games always online anyway you then can leave graphics on max on pc and stream. It's also my work around for none steam games, keeping FPS atleast 60 for AAA undocked, games that don't play well on Linux and to preserve battery life.

Unreal 5 games don't run great on steam deck. I'm sure there are exceptions though. This game doesn't have nanite/lumen from what I understand which makes it a more lightweight UE5 title.

UE5 is a blunder on Epic's side. Previous engines , especially UE3 became known for delivering great visuals without requiring a NASA launch-tier PC and small nuclear reactor for powering the set up - this turned on its head in UE4 and UE5 is what will kill the engine finally in my opinion.

This is 100% a lightweight UE5 title, due to it also releasing on PS4 and Xbone, so the lowest settings are low enough that even my potato PC can run it. (Playing it on PS5 tho)

Maybe just stick to Warframe on Steam Deck

I’m hoping to play on steam deck too. It looks like the betas did work okay at least.

Assuming that’s still true only concern is the performance. I did read the game had a feature that kicks players who’s performance drops hard so that could be a problem if true.

The game runs on the steam deck and playable but I’ve been kick mid instance a lot.

Runs at 30 FPS on low settings with stable performance, for me.

I was able to play at around 40 to 50 FPS with Most things set to low, AA and Physics set to medium, and intel upscaling set to performance or balance. Looked decent too. AMD upscaling looks terrible, use intel instead. Also, you will likely get kicked while switching these settings, but once you get them all set, you should be good to go.

Oh I didn’t realize you’d been testing it on steam deck too when you posted in the other thread. That sounds promising then using the Intel upscaling.

We’re you able to play for a good amount of time without getting kicked after doing that?

Did you change your games actual resolution and are you using full screen or borderless window mode?

Thanks for sharing your results :engineercat:

Yeah, I have a desktop (13400F + 4060Ti((16GB))), and an OLED Steam Deck.

For the Steam Deck, I think the best setting are everything at Low, Frame Rate Capped at 40, and Intel Upscaling set to performance. Use borderless windowed mode, and I did not change the resolution.

You will likely get kicked while changing from AMD to Intel. But once the change is in place, things seem to work fine without a kick. I did that first elimination in the sterile lands like 6 times in a row, and cleared like 2 of the main objectives in the sterile lands too, all while playing on the Deck.

EDIT:
The most annoying part is when you first log in, the pop ups sometimes go about your cursor, so you have to use the touch screen to close them.

Same, any idea if it's a Deck related issue or just crap servers ?

If your performance drops too low, you get kicked
