this game is the reason Arc Raiders was pivoted to pvp extraction shooter

I had no idea this game existed until a couple months ago, I've been following Arc Raiders since it's original teaser announcement and I played the alpha and I can confidently say it's this games fault that Arc Raiders was turned into a lame PVP extraction shooter. Oh no Nexon, can't have 2 looter shooters competing against each other!

I'm not as convinced as you. I'm pretty sure they thought jumping on the extraction shooter train was a good idea.

But sure, it could have been part of their logic.

most of the people who enjoy looter shooters are not the same people who enjoy extraction shooters. They had millions hyped off their original teaser, extraction shooters are niche, they basically gave the middle finger to millions of potential players and went after a completely different and much smaller customer base, it makes no sense to me unless Nexon was like "were making a looter shooter, make something else"

All that can be true, without TFD having anything to do with it.

I've been playing Nexon games for a long time. They make illogical or questionable decisions from time to time. I don't think we will every know the reason behind all of their workings.

TFD probably isn't the only reason for their change. But theoretically, it could be one of the many.

it looked pretty awesome, made by The Finals devs. it was post apocalyptic war of the worlds type ♥♥♥♥. The enemy AI was created using machine learning (taught itself how to walk instead of being given walking animations, and was supposed to continue to learn in the game) and it was all about you and your pals scavenging the wasteland and fighting the alien invaders. It looked fast paced and fun running/zipping around (original teaser showed they straight up ripped the jump pads and grappling gun from the finals), then was delayed to "add a pvp mode" and then a year later the whole game was a pvpve extraction shooter, the camera is now tight over the shoulder, you have very limited stamina, you run slower and die from low height fall damage + extraction shooter BS (and they removed the grapple and bouncepad, there's just a zipline tool now). It doesn't even suit the lore, everyone lives in the same underground city, but as soon as they go to the surface it's a free for all? who cares about humanity? How are you gonna be fighting Barons (the giant spider robots) when every other player in the map can and probably will (it's 2024) kill you. Completely ruined a good game idea.

Anyways I'm going off on a bit of a rant, I'm super salty about it, the alpha sucked.

I'm just saying there was room for both of these games to exist. the 10 people who play extraction shooters have enough of them, they aren't even playing them.

Oh lord is that what happened what a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ waste honesty. Wasn't ark raiders the original devs from BF ?
