you know they got caught and had to pay less than 2% of the extra money they got from breaking the law right ? no reason for them to stop doing it when they make 98% benefit out of it.
I mean it's a business with the product being a game that's fun enough to keep players... but has mechanics or systems built to persuade people into spending money. That's what it really comes down do. And one obvious way to do that is, in a sea of fugly female characters in games... making a game with some attractive females to entice innocent but low-willpower males to spend on cosmetics, etc. I mean just look at a few of their other games - like Vindictus.
Games built BY players and FOR players (not for shareholders) are few and far between nowadays, where the actual emphasis is on making a fun game first, and profits a bonus. Sure, some of these games, such as this one in question, may be fun enough despite the grindy aspects. Let's hope so. And maybe the MTX won't be too aggressive. We'll see, but then that can always change during the life of these online games.
Scam - a dishonest scheme; a fraud.
Fraud - wrongful or criminal deception intended to result in financial or personal gain.
While they are getting financial gain they are not scamming us in any way... they are giving us a playable TPS PVE hero game. Having played all 3 betas the game itself appears fully functional and is refined and fun (imo) so this game is not even remotely close to a scam or fraud.
We have no idea what the store will look like and it is possible they may add so much to it that it tarnishes what could otherwise be a wonderful gaming experience. but by definition there is no "Scam" or "Fraud" happening as they are delivering us a functioning game that is played as intended and advertised.
It is also a F2P game so its not like you can say they scammed you out of $60 where you give them $60 for a game and it turns out the game doesnt even exist. That would be a scam / fraud.
If you spend ANY money on a F2P game then there is NO ONE to blame but yourself. Either spend the money or dont, play the game or dont.
I hope they do not destroy the game with micro transactions like XP boosts, Rare materials and ultimate character unlocks. but its their game, they can do what they want, and it only takes 1 whale to make up for 100 people who quit the game. So our voices here mean nothing xD
What would you ask a F2P game to do to make money then? out of curiosity. What is too many MTX? how do you want to play a F2P game and how do you expect the company making it to make their money back?
Your idea of "too many MTX" may be the minimum someone else thinks should be in there. Some people want XP boosts and they want to spend $5000 to get the coolest character and skins and items. Others dont wanna spend more than $5 and most want to spend nothing at all. But at the end of the day paying an entire staff of devs and paying to keep the servers open is expensive.
Would you rather the game cost $70 but there are no MTX? or would you rather it be F2P but there are cosmetic MTX? You cant have F2P and have 0 transactions or in game price incentives xD that would be a charity then!
This is true. Why RAID is still going cause 100 Whales is way more money than 100000 non paying players.
Exactly xD mobile games that have P2W mechanics in a F2P game are always banking on whales - not the average gamer. I know this game will have MTX in it I just hope they keep it cosmetic like Destiny 2 rather than P2W like unlocking guns, buying all the rare mats so you dont need to do half the content ect.
Problem is the MTX is mainly going to be all the NICE SKINS of the Female characters and THAT ALONE is going to be sought after and will PROBABLY kill the longevity of the game. The female characters are more than LIKELY going to be the MOST played and if people can't earn the skins IN GAME and have to BUY THEM, people won't play this game period. I know I won't. I would rather EARN the skins in game then have to pay them.
There are plenty of things you can earn in game. But its F2P - they gotta make their money. It is also Skins youre talking about, no one is forcing you to buy the skins xD
If the skins gave bonuses, buffs, damage improvements, XP gains, that is some BS and I would be upset with it. but if its literally just cosmetic... then who cares? Yeah it would be nice if there was a way to earn some skins in game through achievements. we dont know if thats the case, I doubt it is, but if the game doesnt have that feature it wont make me quit the game because a skin does nothing to improve the quality of a game. Its sole purpose is to satisfy your eyes. Every game in the world right now, even pay to play games like CoD - have skins you can buy. and they are almost always cooler than what you can find in the game itself from just playing.
I wish MTX didnt exist at all but thats not the world we live in. just dont buy them or move on.
Oh I know I don't need to buy the skins, but tell that to every other perv that plays these games just for the Female Ta tas. That's mainly the SELLING point of this game. The female figure. Yes there are male characters too, but each Male Character has a Female Version that does pretty much the SAME STUFF. That is why Nexon is banking on pervs to buy the Female Skins alot probably from the store.
I can't deny its a GOOD business tactic but MTX need to be like OUTLAWED in gaming. People are sick and tired of it.

A company that locked outfits in Vindictus behind RNG boxes...this is that company. Yeah, they're going to do what they always do, make thing's problematic on purpose and sell you the solutions.
This has been their tactics, and it won't be any different. I've run the Beta for this game, and it's actually fun, with the classes being enjoyable. However again, this game being FTP, meaning they will take every bit of penny out of you, it's just that simple.
It's going to be P2W, and I'm tired of people stating "Pay for Convenience" crap statement when it's literally P2W, you want to get things fast, get to the best options the fastest, you Pay.
Playing the betas, you can already see what they're planning to do. I will ultimately wait for the game to release, and "see" what they do. However, it's going to more than likely have 10 million micro-transactions on release date, guaranteed.
Prove me wrong Nexon, I would love to see yet, however all of my history playing any of your games has told me otherwise...
