Extreme Lag Spikes from High DPI/Polling rate
I should have posted this when I solved the issue, but I was too busy playing the game and working.

The first day, I had no issues. Then on the 2nd or third day, I noticed turning 180 degrees quickly to 'turn around' would cause major FPS drops to the point where if I just kept sweeping my mouse the game was freezing and even displayed 0 fps at one point. I have a 11700k, ROG Strix 3080, 32GB ram.

I updated my nvidia drivers, (im guessing the update on game end caused this problem) and it didn't stop, I re-installed the game and it didn't help. I almost gave up on the game. I knew it had to be something to do with Razer Synapse and my Viper 8k. My brother was using 800 dpi, 2000hz polling rate and had zero issues. I use 2400 dpi, 8000hz polling rate and my guess is that too much mouse information was being sent to the game. Lowering DPI to 1600 lessened the effect a little, but it was still unplayable. Cutting down to 2000hz polling rate and raising the DPI back to 2400 almost solved the issue, but if I moved it really fast I could cause a minor lag spike still.

Lowering in-game sensitivity from 32 to 20 made it so the game no longer froze no matter how fast I was rotating the screen. If you use even higher dpi, you'd probably have to lower the in-game sensitivity further because there is a limit that once you move too fast the game will stutter. Somewhere past 2400 dpi, 2000hz polling rate, and 20 in-game sensitivity. Avoid 8000hz until they fix it. I should have posted this sooner so others could confirm this, but if you have good hardware but got crazy lag spikes when looking around, I'm 100% certain it's because you use high DPI settings.

Games still have issues with mouse polling rates in 2024? I remember this ♥♥♥♥ from like korean f2p games from the late 90's/early 2000's.

That is wild.

Also can you even feel a difference between 1k and 2k? Let alone 2k to 8k?

Thanks for this info, had to turn mine all the way down to 1000Hz, but can play the game at least in ultra setting, was wondering why my Radeon RX6700XT would have a issue maybe, but this was gold. Cheerz
