Elden Ring shows up and even with the nerfs to PvP the game was far more popular than the previous games. They released an arena as well later on but no one really cared.
The Coop mod for the game have been downloaded over a million times by unique users.
PvP is not something most people care about. This is also why fighting games are not super popular in online mode.
Yes olny popular due to invasive players whom used glitches, op weapons, full of toxic players. This is what pvp has become and is not needed in pve games.
Pvp should and always have its own franchise so pve players can play in comfort.
What I find amusing, is if they even make PvP, these are the people yelling "cheater!" all the time.
They also go to every new release and demand PvP, it's ridiculous.
We don't need PvP in every single game that comes out.
There are plenty of games which are designed to revolve around PvP, they can be good, this is not such a game.
