If one heavy doesn't suffice, take two...or three.
Or...take a light-loadout with sniper and glitchgrenade. Burst shields with nades on the fringes and snipe that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ (APS) like it owes you money.
Or...you get the point.
You can always change classes, loadouts, specials, gadgets and weapons.
Get creative, adapt and coordinate. There is always another way.
And don't forget to have fun. ;)
Bonus: Mediums CL40-splashradius is bigger than the APS-radius. Two shots just outside of it, done. Enjoy!
APS should be limited to 1 for squad
Turrets are fine they can be outranged or completely take from flanks or behind
Sniper should be locked away. It's a ♥♥♥♥♥ weapon, this is about "power shifting" with constant assaults, not hiding in a corner and snipe doing nothing for your team. That weapon in THIS mode is a cancer for both attacking and defending team.
no
On first sight it seems like a total neckbreaker but it isnt.
Playing with randoms its a impossible task tho.
I speak from personal experience. I did all this (in random as a solo). So nothing "very naive and wrong" about it.
Yes, you gonna die often. You push it, open up their defenses, so your other teammates can capitalize on it. Play as a team. Sacrifice and honor the sacrifices of your teammates. It IS possible. Just not with standing around, twiddling your thumbs and expecting to get the boat scot-free with tactics YOU think should work, but don't. Try different tactics and overcome. The tools are there. Learn to use them.
Good luck!
Before Embark implements my brilliant idea, here is an effective workaround for the issue regaining control of the platform when the other team has control and multiple APS turrets....
They let you change anything about your character on the fly. Main a medium with APS. If and when they take the platform, change to a heavy with goo gun or charge slam, flamethrower, dome shield, barricades, and gravity cube.
Goo all over the platform (giggity). Throw dome shield on platform, put up a barricade or 2 up if you have time. And start torching them. You will most likely die in this process, but not without taking out at least 3 if not all of them. Then while you are dead, switch back to your main that has APS.
It'd also be nice if they fixed the bug where it shoots through walls.
I think you're on to something here with the ammo count. The regular turret should have a max ammo count as well
bring glitch grenades as well so you can lob them on after popping the APS so they can't attempt another setup and hope the 4 other people take advantage.
You can't take it, they have the equivalent of 8 guns on the platform, and you can't nade them out.
I vote there should be a maximum of two APS capable of being mounted to the platform
i hate this line of thinking. it makes player lazy; don't like something? just ban it, don't learn how to play around it!
it removes all of the complexity and skill in a game to just turn it into braindead fun where there's no strategy and no difficulty.
play to improve, people. use your brains sometimes! it still remains fun :)
