thats exactly what the AI voice acting in this game does, giving unique and interesting dialogue that is different every game, something that human voice actors can not do in a video game.
unless you wanna pay like 20.000 voice actors to live commentate every game that is going on which would also be impossible.
A lot of people are salty that it's taking "jobs" away from real VA. But as a musician, I've dealt with this for years. It's not thay big of a deal. The same people complaining about that are listening to drake loaded with synth and autotune.
let me quote myself for you real quick since i assume you just didn't read the post?
In a few years we will have AI voice overs in all games. As long as they voice main characters with real well known names and use AI for any filler voices it's great.
For people who argue than AI shouldn't be used at all in games, well forget it. Too fast, too cheap and will only get better. It's going to happen you want it or not.
but that is not my point.
my point is that the AI Voice actors do something that humans voice actors could never do, commentate on whats actually going on in the match, coming up with unqiue and interesting NEW lines every single match.
meanwhile with human voice actors you hear the same sh*t over and over and over again.
i feel like for Multiplayer PVP games, AI is simply far better than a human voice actor, since they don't contstantly repeat themselves.
not to mention that the Corgi guy got 500 bucks for doing all of corgis lines in league, lines that are still heard in the millions, so whats more important, giving 2 voice actors 500 bucks OR making the game objectively better for the hundreds of thousands of players playing EVERY SINGLE DAY.
don't get me wrong for story driven SIngleplayer games like The Witcher 3 human voice actors are (still) better, but once big games start to experiment with AI voice acting humans will also be worse, humans can only read out set lines of dialogue, AI can make unique lines for YOUR game that no one else has heard before, even when playing the same game.
Although I agree, emotions play a part in voice acting but you should test out elevenlabs. The power of that voice AI is quite crazy, they can insinuate tone from symbols like "!" or "?" and change e.g. into a questioning tone based on a question mark. Play around with spaces or dots and you can get a dramatic pause inbetween etc.
This is just fake manufactured reddit outrage from people who get upset at whatever headline they read without caring to look into the issue.
If it did, usernames would be called out. I would actually be on the side with AI voices if they called out usernames and actually had a reason to say words, rather than trying to make one liners where they always repeat themselves. Game is being supported by Nexon, so we can't make the excuse of money
