Light Builds: HARD Lessons Learned as a NOOB
It took me a while to understand the design intent of the "light" archetype. Longer than I'd be proud to admit.

So far, I've realized that they are NOT meant to be glass cannons (which is what I had assumed they were).

Since this game is all about moving something from A to B. This class is more so great to optimize towards high objective scores, with combat as secondary.

These points are general, situation sometimes calls for different actions. But for consistency, these are helpful.

- Rule of thumb REGARDLESS of class: have the highest score in one of the metrics (combat, support, or objective) and the second highest for another, in YOUR team. Not as useful when comparing to other teams.
- If you had the highest score in only one of these, then you didn't help enough in one of the other two.
- If you did not have any of the highest scores, you got carried.
- Light builds especially: If you have ZERO support score, you did something wrong. Pick up trophies, get them to safety, and revive. Do poke damage often, be as satisfied with assists as with kills.

- My mantra when playing Light is "move like a butterfly, sting like a bee."
You should be like an annoying mosquito to the other teams.

- Weave in and out of cover, sight, or hight. If you don't have walls around you and you're being shot at, you're dead - not particularly true with the other classes due to their higher health.

- If your other teammates are dead, WAIT to retrieve their trophies. Don't B Line, go through the perimeter to prevent encounters.

If you're in quick play:
- Don't stress over the match. Just have fun, test out builds or strategies, warm-up or practice your existing builds.
- Learn to read the flow of the match. What does it mean when a cash box has been opened but takes too long to go to a bank station? where will the cash box go? Were any teams wiped?

You got half of it, though I would say your mantra is literally the description of a glass cannon.

As for the score part, I disagree, there are things that you are doing that may not contribute to any score at all. Zoning and area denial does not show on score. Literal decoy and distraction doesn't contribute to score. Relying solely on score feels slightly tryhard and turning it into something technical, like the thought of medium must only heal.

The game calls for innovative and dynamic gameplay, and you can work with your team with different strategies like you said.

Yeah but I feel like that's even more advanced, while learning the game it was helpful to actually look at the impact of what I was doing. Remember, noob here haha. If you know what you're doing and you succeed, the more power to you!

But for the people I matchmaker with, and with the track record of the times I've won and lost, those conclusions have helped immensely in identifying what works and what doesn't.

But what you say is true, and as you get into higher skilled matches, you just have to go with the strategies you've built with your team (or yourself if you're a solo queue like me)

If you know all these, you are way more than a noob already.

Sometimes its fun to see the meta people come up with against you. I've seen videos / killcams of people putting turret on a chair and holding that chair up like an infinite no reload gun.

or

Putting C4 charges on a explosive canister and shooting it off into the enemy.

I've done C4 + Gas canister... honestly it has been one of my not so secret weapons for my light build when we third party another team. And as a medium build, I put a gas mine into the red canister and it's pretty much a gas missile
