PSA: Don't Trust Streamers, They Are Paid Off

As the title says. Not a single streamer who's running drops will say anything negative about the p2w options in this game, despite being the same people who boycotted the Unheard Edition of Tarkov. JesseKazam, Sheef, Landmark, Strange, everyone running drops.

So take what they say with a grain of salt. This game is egregiously pay to win. You can spend real money to buy the best gear in the game. You can spend real money to buy in-game currency into the hundreds of millions. Secure Containers are locked behind premium and whatever "event" they plan on running in the future. Premium membership also awards you with significantly better than average drops from enemy NPC kills and loot caches.

Despite these developers promises, they designed their game around allowing Swipers to snowball. And the streamers who are typically more vocal about this kind of stuff are strangely silent, or in like Strange's case, completely justifying it. So content creators have been paid off.

I am curious though what Valve would think to find out that the game went into Open Beta, aka "free-to-play soft launch" and got monetized off-platform. I'm pretty sure that's against the Steam EA creator ToS. I think Valve at the very least requires that if you launch on a different platform you gotta also simultaneously launch on Steam.

Yep, it's pretty sad how the modern streamer is just another arm of the corporations. One more form of brain rot to add to the pile.

I finished the tutorial mission and when I got to the menu and saw the store I instantly uninstalled the game. Literally buying in game money with real money is absolutely hilarious. No thank you.

Decent lesson for anyone stupid enough to dickride a game dev with unfinished product claiming its a better competitor overall. Nothing new honestly but ppl are tend to forget

I don't like Jesse because he's a hypocrite. He pisses and moans on stream all the time when he doesn't get an access key to something, then once he gets it he talks crap on his viewers for getting upset that streamers get preferential treatment. Like when Escape From Tarkov: Arena first was coming out and only certain content creators were getting keys. He didn't get one for like two days and he pissed and moaned about it the entire time, then finally got in and started banning people in his chat for complaining about the same thing. Dude is a loser.

Yeah Grimmz actually has some integrity. He played the game for a few hours, saw what it had to offer and made the decision that while it had things he liked he can't support that kind of monetization and won't showcase it to his community.

Lvndmark was so stalwart initially towards BSG when the Unheard edition went down. I listened to him reiterate constantly what the definition of P2W is and he said that in his opinion Unheard was definitive P2W. The idea of EFT selling roubles to get some revenue was floated and he said no that would be even worse....

Yet with ABI he is totally complicit in the monetization style and P2W elements of ABI because of drops and higher viewership.

No integrity, Just following the most popular trend to stay relevant and keep his lifestyle.
