Genuine concern

Having played the mobile version for a number of months after it released in the US, I can honestly say I love this game and will more than likely enjoy the PC version even more.

However, I worry about how monetized the game will become. I understand that for a free to play game to survive it has to have a cash sink, that is virtually unavoidable especially with a game such as this. But what I remember from the mobile version was if you want a secure container at all, you have to pay a monthly cost, and if you wanted a key tool of any size you also have to pay a monthly cost. Which puts it more toward a pay to win scale as keys = high value loot = money = better gear = progression and enjoyability, and same goes with secure containers. This honestly never applied to me or the higher tier players as if you don't die you don't need to worry about losing, but for the average or lesser player it poses an issue. This is aside from the pay to win scale of paying real money for more/extra/better gear to take into a raid.

I am wondering if the pay to win model is staying the same, getting worse, or being balanced. Do we have any official or concrete information on this topic?

I mean, I get your concern, and I agree that pay to win would suck. But when I played the beta I felt that even facing others with higher tier gear I was able to get the jump and get a few well placed shots to take them down. It took a while for me to really get the concept of not rushing in guns blazing and being slow and methodical because I am so used to arena shooters of the past. I have good and bad games, but in the end I just play to have a good time, I am going to die, I am going to lose a lot of loot but you have your good games and you have your bad. Ill play solo but will also find people in game that will most likely become regulars with me and it will be fun. Thats all that matters to me in the end, having fun, with or without friends even if it means getting my face torn off by a barrage of bullets and going at it again.
