Game modes with limited gear level + knife change

It's not fun playing casual on normal with level 2-3 gear only to encounter one player or even a platoon that are running level 5-6 gear that you can't even hope to damage. Having game modes where you know what the max level gear is will lead to a more level playing field, allowing people to enjoy the game more because they don't have to go against the tryhards or wallet warriors that are out to destroy the enjoyment of everyone else.

It's sad to see that knives do so little damage in this game. One would imagine that a knife to the face or in the back of the neck would disable most targets. Why is this aspect so disregarded?
