Again... Tarkov is base $50 and is flooded with cheaters. A good anti-cheat gets rid of cheater, not free-to-play or not.

The only thing I've noticed free-to-play games get flooded with is bots in F2P MMOs spamming chat with gold-selling ads.

that is a terrible idea for anyhting other than mmos, now if they make this game like a giant open world persistant tarkov where you can make scav communities/ pmc outposts with other players and recruit npc guards n workers etcetc then ill happily pay a monthly sub

Apex Legends is free to play, Counter Strike 2 is free to play, PUBG is free to play, Fortnite is free to play, Overwatch 2 is free to play. Being free to play doesn't make it PTW, it largely depends on how greedy are the developer & publisher.

Well if they are bad, they won't be the most popular games on Steam.

But I have to say free to play makes the game much more likely to embrace PTW.
Otherwise they have to add all kinds of weird ass cosmetics into this tactical FPS game which to me is just as bad as PTW.
Personally I prefer buy to play games.
