It's not a clone, it's the product that players of this genre want. The developers have simply listened to the shouts and wishes!
The only thing that worries me is the F2P. F2P games often end up P2Win or P2Progress, and not to mention, since it's free, the number of cheaters is going to be overwhelming.
Ofc it's still no match in terms of gun/stance mechanics or map complexity or bot "Intelligence".
When it comes to graphics, level design and gunplay/fights it's basically CoD Warzone with shorter TTK, but besides this downside it does most things better than EFT. Here's few to name:
- Stamina has separated upper and lower body, so there's no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ like being unable to jump or run after holding ADS for too long.
- Quick matchmaking.
- Better performance ( obviously no surprise since the maps are way more basic, has way less loot and the AI is quite dumb so there's not that much of CPU torture ).
- Voiced Quest Dialog.
- Fair matchmaking.
- Better Anticheat?
- Not overpriced weapon mods/attachments, so you actually can use the weapon modding feature.
- No Friendly Fire afaik, so you can go with randoms without worrying that they're going to kill you for your loadout.
- Various UI/UX and match stats/history design elements are way nicer.
DEVS should be ashamed. Asking for $200 edition on game that is technically BROKEN is a disgrace - if the game was actually finished - i would not have a problem to pay them more,
but not for this garbage.
ONLY thing TARKOV does well is the maps and atmosphere, always like that.
I want to try this ARENA, waiting till it releases on steam. Looks fun and i like the quality of life. Anyone here who plays Arena can comment on Grey Zone too? Curious how they compare.
take elements from different games and blend them well together.
it looks good , it makes things better than other games, so i would play it.
yhea it will be Chinese Mobile Developer means its very Likely.
What of the P2W Stuff is there?
The container (Tarkov Tecnicaly gives you a better container for free but even people playing it as a job basicaly have that as a late wipe goal usualy so for any more casual player its the same)
Melle Weapons with more Damage. I mean even if somebody has a Better melle Weapon How many melle Kills do you usualy get on other players?
More Market listings. Lets say 4 hours of Gaming per day thats a little under 20 Listings per Hour and you can Sell in Batch so if saved up equates like 100 items roughly
Buying Cash (So BIS Limitet to Found or Bought from Whale while Tarkov limits it to Found or the handfull of people Finishing quests)
Now what does Tarkov have as p2w features (All of the Above are not yet in the Game but estimates based on Mobile so gonna do the same with Tarkov)
The Abilitie to call in your Friends back into raid after their Death (or just Randomly though it will supposedly need some Recharge)
The Abilitie to call in an APC with a High Calliber Machine gun to support you (And not yet a Possibilitie to fight ageinst it yet)
Bigger Secure container (debatable as seen above but for Most casuals yes)
Bigger Ingame Inventory (Pocket Expansion)
More Flea Market Slots
Faster Insurance Return and Longer Retention (Basicaly another Big Inventory Extension)
Starting advantages
A bunch of Higher Tier Equipment at the start
Increased Skills
Increased Trader Rep
Bigger starting Stash.
All in all Tarkov has More and in my Opinion Partialy also more Troublesome P2W Elements.
Obviously there is a Side Point of How do the P2w Elements Influence the Design of the game But thats another whole Topic
and yhea i still think Tarkov is Going to be just fine since the main Audience of Tarkov that this game is Competing with are the More Casual Play a Round here and there Player (And basicaly does not Matter what advantages you give as p2w its Hard to Compare to how Tarkov ♥♥♥♥♥ you over if you are behind)
Wouldn't have happened if Tarkov was on Steam. And not charging $250.
