Ys Origin
Any way of skipping the intro?
Seriously, watching it once or twice is fine but its b*****rd long. If there was a way of skipping all the anime crud that would be great.

If you mean all the dialogue with the Roda Trees and the tower entrance stuff, then no, you can't skip that.

If you hold... it's either X or C, the dialogue will be skipped pretty fast, but not instantly. As for the FMVs, I think they can only be skipped after beating the game once?

Yeah, that sounds right.

There's an option in Configuration that allows you to disable all movie playback. But this only disables the movies, not the IG cutscenes.

The intro movies are the perfect time to pull up the Steam in-game browser and review achievements you might have missed :fsad:
They should still be skippable, especially the opeining anime FMV music video that pretty much serves no purpose.

this game with no stupid long talk would be amazing........ a button to skip all the blablablabla and start playing is what we need!...

I don't understand why Japanese developers have absolutely ZERO concept of usability. Horrible menus, unskippable intro cutscenes that serve no purpose, painful tutorials that take hours to finish and teach you very little about the actual game.

15 minute unskippable cutscene, less than 20 seconds of gameplay including 2 walls of text about all of the game mechanics, then several more minutes of painful dialog. Seriously, what is wrong with Japanese developers?

Nothing wrong with Japanses developers, they just be awesome to the very end of it.

Most jrgps have 5-20 hours of tutorial, lol :P I consider Midgar as tutorial, horrible btw, as whole game, but that was the worst part, it's only my opinion though. When it's story driven tutorial it's unskippable. Unfortunately Japanese games tend to be made in such a manner. I consider tutorial -> time, when game still didn't show you whole mechanic.

The opening cinematics are pretty cool, awesome music, tells the story, and also tells the story in a different way that I like. If you can't skip something with click, then you have to grab a sandwich or something and enjoy the cutscene.

It's already been said in this thread that they're skippable after you beat the game once. You're probably not meant to play through all the character's storylines simultaneously, but rather finish one, and then move on to another.

hate to threadromance but my god the start of the game is godawful ssssssllllllllooooowwwwww w/o any apparently easy way to skip it given that it's nothing other than well, let's be honest fluff...

Ys Origin is one of my favorite games of all time, but inability to skip all text is the reason why I often just go play something else instead. If I could just skip all cutscenes, it would instantly become my number one, best game ever.
Skipping in Felghana, Naphitism and Seven would be nice too.
