Hugo's damage against certain enemies

I've finished the game as Yunica a few days ago and started playing as Hugo.

Everything went great (even got the achievement for defeating the enemy in Guilty Fire) But now I entered Silent Sands and against certain enemies, like the Yellow Nooze and some others, Hugo does only 1 damage per shot. The noozes have 224 HP (!). Is this how it's supposed to be or did my game get gliched somehow?

For reference, I am level 26 and I just entered the area.

EDIT: The ooze-shooting enemies on the left, too. Can't possible play the game like that. I also noticed that I get instantly swarmed by like 10 guys emerging from the sand, I don't remember there ever being that many when playing as Yunica.

Turns out I forgot to use a piece of cleria ore... Sorry to clutter the front page with my desperate plea :)

Same thing happen to me on first playthrough, back-tracking is always a good idea
