YS Origin:XBOX ONE Gamepad Issues
I've just switched from a cheap gamepad to x1 gamepad, with the cheap gamepad, it works well playing this game, and when i switch to x1 controller, it works well, too.
The problem occured when i bought a new PC and install ys origin again,i found that for some reason, i cannot edit the input setting for gamepad as before. It's like, the game can recognize my x1 controller while playing, but in the config.exe menu, i cannot change the input settings using my x1 controller, but this works fine with my cheap gamepad.
PS. Another issus:the vibration isn't work forever.

That's the issue with all Ys games on that engine, I believe - Configuration Tool doesn't recognize xbone controller's inputs. I had to use my old x360 controller to remap and then switch back to x1. I also use JoyToKey to map magic to triggers.

I have the Xbone controller and am having no issues with it. It even let me reconfigure the buttons. The only thing I can figure is you have to click the button that says like for instance "Walk/Run" and then it'll let you input what button you want to change it to. You can't just click the "Button 10" box and have it do anything. Took me a minute to figure that out.

I'm having the same issues. I select the input and can change it using keyboard/mouse control, but it does not recognize the key press on my xbone controller. This wouldn't be nearly as frustrating if they didn't hide the config file so I could just edit it manually. The biggest issue I'm having is that JoyToKey is messing things up in game because the game is reading BOTH inputs. By that I mean, when I press the jump button (mapped to button 1 on controller by changing the input key with JoyToKey) I jump AND attack, because of the game chooses now to recognize the controller input and it is recognizing a keyboard key press and the controller press at the same time. Really frustrating.

I ran into this myself. It is possible to edit the controls in the config file, just needed to find it. No need to use JoyToKey or other tools.

I wrote a guide that explains how to edit the file along with a layout based on how they mapped the buttons of the PS4 port of the game.

I also have the exact same problems of:

A) the default gamepad mapping is horrible, i.e. it maps Jump to the "B" Button

B) the vibration doesn't work with this game (at least not on the "test" button with the config tool, but I presume it also does not work at any point in the game, either).

C) Cancel & Jump have to be mapped to the same one button, even though Cancel should be B and Jump should be A.

D) the config tool does not allow me to change the gamepad inputs, even though it is supposed to perform that function.

In addition, I also found the in-game manual to be really annoying & worthless, because it was telling me what the keyboard keys do, even though that information is useless to me because I am using a gamepad.

I tried to follow the instructions of Sweetz' guide listed above, but doing that was a chore, and it doesn't fix the problems of Jump/Cancel on the same one button, or the vibration not working.

Really, the devs should be fixing all this stuff that's broken rather than leaving the end users to perform convoluted workarounds on their own, that only fix some of the issues.

And the in-game manual should be explaining which buttons on the gamepad - not keyboard keys - activate which functions.

Do the other Ys games also have the same problems? Do I have to go through this same kind of rigamarole again for every Ys game, before a gamepad will work semi-properly with the game?
