They work brilliantly. Now...any way to bring back the old main menu/in-game music? That shouldn't be too difficult, right? :) I may have to dabble in that myself and see if I can bring back that old music.
EDIT: Never mind, guess that's pretty easy, to change the music back to the old music(Level, Boss, Menu).
Again, thanks for doing this! The game once again has become playable!
I went ahead and went to Game Properties and then went to Verify Game Cache and that re-downloaded the original Sfx folder(sound effects and all) and the new music. So basically, if you want to keep the old sound effects in tact and not have to do the steps above again, don't Verify Game Cache, like I had to do.
Anyways, TehSeven, is there any way to effectively replace the new music with the old music and where it'll actually work?
I play with SR music off so I didn't even try to do much with the music files, but it seems that in r45 they are ogg files rather than wma files, maybe you can use something like this[media.io] to convert whatever you need and then replace.
The "item_grapplinghook_attach_2.xnb" is the sound when you hit something that is not a grapple ceiling.
The new sfx are awesome tho. I don't know why people don't like them :/
Thanks for that man! After doing a bit of fiddling around with the different quality, I was able to make it work. I actually chose High quality(192 kbit/s) OGG file output first, but that didn't work(game kept closing right at launch), so I then chose Extreme quality(320 kbit/s) OGG file output and that seemed to be the ticket.
Old Menu, Level, and Boss music are now in play in the game. Awesome!
Old sound effects, check!
Old music, double check!
Old lobby.......hmm...lol
Because they just don't sound the same, and they sound way too 'mechanic'. And because of that, it's too distracting.
Thanks, fixed :D
Yeah :D
