Loading Screen time?
Anybody else have long loading time?

I just started playing and my first attempt to start a run came after a 5 minute loading screen.

Thanks for your report. The first loading is always a bit long, the ones coming after are usually way faster. Although, 5 minutes seems long - I have similar specs and my loadings are quite fast in solo. Are you playing solo or multiplayer? If only multiplayer, have you tried to launch the game in solo and see if it's as long? Those information would help us very much!

In any case, we will continue to work on the optimization of the game during its Early Access!

In solo i'm fine (less than a minute/half a minute), with my friend who has a slower PC, it can take up to 5~10 minutes, not all the time though.

Yea it was weird i didn't figure this type of game would cause a long loading time.

Probably on my end but I get confused as I can run games like Elden Ring and Cyberpunk with decent loading times so I don't understand why this one took so long.

I'm on an old rig though.

it's somewhat proceduraly generated and probably isn't optimized so yes that's normal. I occasionally get faster loading times, don't know why

You were right its the first run where my loading time is a bit long. Probably on my end. Every run afterwards the loading screen is pretty much instant for me now. Thanks for the help and loving the game so far.

By chance, since I have a developer here may I ask another question?

Are there any plans for multiplayer matchmaking? Something similar to Risk of Rain or perhaps Drop in Drop out style?

I have the same with a ping at 7, a 4080 super and an AMD Ryzen 9 9950X.
I have reinstall the game 3 times and the game has a loading screen of 3-5 mins (in worst, it's 10 mins) for :
Load a party
Leave a party
Start the game
Left the game

It wasn't like that before, do you have a way to continue to play ?

(your game is really good by the way)

Cheers,

Co-op reliably stops working eventually far into a game and seemingly everybody get disconnected, this has happened so often now that I am simply done playing for the moment until this is fixed. My connection is fine.
Also, loading times with console players is a real drag, this is also very easy to replicate, happens every time someone in the party isn't on steam, I don't think 5 minutes would be an exaggeration either..
Gameplay is great, needs more of the stuff you are already are working on. Would love some obscure scandinavian folk tale characters, Little Frick in particular creeps my mind, I can already envision his moveset.

Definitely feels like a bug and not an optimization issue; I have a Ryzen 9950X and the game uses a full core for about 15 minutes loading Chapter 2 for the first time. Haven't seen yet if this persists after the first run.

I have exactly the same issue :(

AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, nVidia 3080Ti, 32GBRAM, 2 NVMe SSD (tried to launch game from both)

I found how to fix issue with extremely long loadings. You should disable CPU virtualization in BIOS/UEFI.

This is obviously a bug that needs to be fixed. Because it is very inconvenient to reboot and enable/disable virtualization every time, because for some tasks you need it.
another 9950x user here reporting this. The game is unplayable. Load times in excess of 5-10 minutes even to start the game. I have a new build PC with only an SSD (no HDD), a 5080, 64 GB of RAM, etc...a top of the line machine. This game is the only program that has any load time whatsoever, and it's embarrassingly slow. My friends can start the game, get in, and play several times over before I can even see the menu.

Were you folks planning on fixing this up orrrr.....?

I had similar issues and felt like it was related to vsync and frame rate. I posted long time ago about it here :

Do you notice something similar ?
