Hello! It's releasing this month! We don't have a date to communicate yet, but we'll announce it soon :)

Cheers
It's the end of the month. Good luck competing with Doom: Dark Ages and Elden Ring: Nightreign that plays similarly to this game.

the best solution was to release the patch at the beginning of the month, but unfortunately this did not happen(

Both of these games play nothing like Ravenswatch though.

ah if only the competition was only between similar games. it's like releasing a low-budget movie before the new year when there are 5 blockbusters showing in the cinema

Its still is a free update, they are not getting any profit off of it either way so I don't really see a solid reason for them to care about this

This is a free content update, not the release of the game. Also if we are tracking not just similar releases but anything then there has never been a good time to release anything because at every possible moment there is something releasing. Moreover if everything is competing with everything then tiktok and twitch are far bigger competitors to any game than any other game is as they engage people for significantly longer and longer times and take from their free time.

I hope it would be not only a new character... otherwise it would be dissapointed.

you are going into absurdity, it is obvious that your statement is true globally, games can really compete for people's attention not only with games. but in fact, when developing a marketing strategy, only those factors that you can influence are taken into account, you can find the best time to release a game/update. It may not be the ideal time, but the best of all that there is. any content update is a reason to return part of the audience and a marketing trigger to attract a new audience. especially if it is a major update adding a hero/mode and so on. you really compete with games that are released on steam/ps/xbox and/or will also have an info reason such as a content update. Games are promoted by the platform, for example, steam in the store itself, in pop-up messages. And if a potential Ravenswatch player goes to Steam and sees this game with its content update and two other major projects that have a potentially greater chance of attracting players, like Eldenring, then he will most likely go to the last one. This is just a base, without going into marketing.

as much as Elveone exagurated, so your stance is also exagurated.
its simply is not worth the trouble to deal with this over a free update.

competition between games on the platform during the release of games or updates is a reality, not an exaggeration. Another question is whether this update is useless or not. As far as I thought, this update with a new hero. The goal of such updates, as I already wrote, is to retain the audience, return the old audience, attract a new audience. When you pursue these goals, you take into account the influence of the competitive environment in your marketing strategy, including calculating the optimal release date, as far as possible. Another question is if we are talking about some kind of minor balance update, if exactly this was supposed to come out in May, then yes, it does not make sense.

my perception on the matter is altered because of me not caring about those big release, but even if i did i still fail to understand a problem in releasing an update during the release of other games mattering even in the slightest on the player retantion, its not like people who await update for this game will somehow miss it and even if they do they will just learn about it but just slightly later, or people who did not care about it sudenly starting to care because it was delayed just to not be released among the big releases

i fail to percieve your complaint as anything more than "i wanna the next update to be delayed because." which confuses the everliving ♥♥♥♥ out of me

You don't get it simply because you ignore the purpose of any such update, we are not talking about those who are waiting for this update. These people are already an active audience for the game and do not require additional marketing efforts to attract them. You are literally taking my words out of context and ignoring everything else, and also attributing words to me that I did not use at all, i.e. you are lying, I never said that I wanted the release date to be postponed. Personally, I don't care when the update is released. Moreover, it is possible that the release date was initially determined in the most optimal way taking into account all the factors that can affect audience attraction and was initially chosen as the most optimal of all possible. I only responded to a comment stating that games should be similar in order to compete for the attention of the gaming audience, and this does not necessarily have to be the case. I don't think you are even slightly competent in the matter, considering how you conduct a dialogue with me, you are not initially set up for a constructive dispute and answer simply to answer, as you do in many steam topics. For this reason, I will refrain from further discussion specifically with you.

god ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ damnit, it starts to get annoying already once i try to actually "conduct a dialogue" with someone they sudenly feel an urge to ♥♥♥♥ on me.

yeah, i tend to lose the thread of dialogues and stick with individual massages, that is my shortcoming, but in regards "I only responded to a comment claiming that games should be similar in order to compete for the attention of the gaming audience" was just a message that literally only pointed out that the games in question were nothing alike to Ravenswatch despite that person claiming otherwise, there were no implication from Elveone in that message that different in nature games can not compete, you yourself assumed that.

i have not said that your point is invalid or anything alike, i said that i fail to understand it and i meant it in a way that i want to understand it.
