Do you guys agree?

not... really...? like, it is good, but it doesn't feel like rogue-"whatever"

Feels more like league of dotas but PVE.
With random loadouts

No, I do not agree. The game is solid and fun with friends but I think it misses the mark in a lot of ways. Especially when you compare it to other titles in the "genre". Off my head, a game like Hades has better navigation, better/interesting "talents and objects", and better bosses.

IMO, the only major thing Ravenswatch has going for it is the different characters and their banter with each other during a run. That's a nice detail that adds immersion and is the icing on top for each character being unique or at least different.

As for roguelite elements... IMO, the game shouldn't have such a tag. Literally the only "roguelite" thing it has is "run based" gameplay and RNG of locations/upgrades during a run. Compare that to actual Roguelites like Hades, Dead Cells, Rogue Legacy, etc. and there's a lot more RNG content, Meta Progression, synergies, or customization.

Again, not saying Ravenswatch is bad, just saying I do not think it is "one of the best".
Ehm, no? it's more so in the range of a 6/10.

Little content, severe design and balance issues, multiplayer is almost pointless with how everything is done. Feel and graphics as well and theme are nice but I'm not even sure if this game is any better than their last one.

Hades is a 10, Enter the Gungeon is a 12, I wouldn't put this game in a top 30.

specific talents/characters elevate this game and they tend to be the later-released ones. Definitely a game that wears its early access history on its sleeve, for better and worse. I don't think I would have nearly as much fun with this game if not for some of the last unlockable talents and characters, Sun Wukong in particular. I like what some of the early characters become with their last talents too; the only character of the original four I don't care for is Snow Queen and that's mostly preference, not power

No, the balance for the game is not good, especially for some characters on Nightmare difficulty. It's like they didn't adjust it for solo play at all.

Definitevely, one of the best roguelikes that I have played. I have tons of fun playing it with friends
Oh well guess I'm the only one who ranks this game as one of the best. I played a lot of roguelites and I don't know I just really like this one.

When I first saw the topic I really didn't expect the parade of bitterness. But yeah, it is one of the best roguelites around with pretty unique mechanics and plenty of builds.

I know right! I just tried to be positive for once...

I think "parade of bitterness" is a stretch. People can like different things or find something lackluster without being bitter. I mean, I can only speak for myself and I'll reiterate that I do not think Ravenswatch is a bad game. For me, it's a 6.5 or 7/10 game when you play with friends. It's one of the only co-op games in the genre and the play on tales/heroes is interesting.

And that's completely fine! Games are supposed to be about fun, so who really cares as long as you are having fun. IMO, it's clear the Devs have passion for the game and are trying to make a good, interesting, game... which says a lot.

I find games like Dead Cells, The Binding of Isaac and Brutal Orchestra as some of the best. Ravenswatch is not there, but it is just below them. Without going into details of what I like and don't like in the game, I won't put it among the best roguelikes/lites, but it is still high up there, giving me a lot of fun and as one of the games in genre I did put the most hours into, both solo and co-op.

I wouldn't say your post was one of the bitter ones, although I do not think it was factually correct about a lot of things. Also there are really quite a lot of co-op roguelites out there.

So where is this "parade of bitterness" then? Just people disagreeing (somewhere around 5 before you posted) counts as "bitter" for you?

Just depends on how we view certain things I guess. As for the co-op comment, what I meant was that Ravenswatch is one of the only/few games that had co-op in mind from the start of development and is built around it in the genre. E.g. Sword of the Necromancer has co-op but it's basically a tacked on feature when compared to Ravenswatch.

But I digress...
