No reason to play when Romeo and Juliet launches
I literally only play this game by myself, the fact the first dlc character is something I literally can't play single player is extremely dissapointing and feels really misguided if this is the only content coming when they launch

well, that DLC will give you a reason to find a friend that plays this game and then you'll have a reason to play it

It's a free dlc, you **king snob...

Fortunately, it's a free DLC so it's doesn't matter that much.
Making it free was the right move.

I'd rather have a paid DLC of a character I can play than free DLC of characters I can't play. Also, it being "a free dlc" is just corporate speak for a free update, like the previous update with bosses, so everyone is in their perfect right to complain that devs just wasted a bunch of time and resources developing something only playable in coop, instead of making something absolutely everyone can enjoy.

Not really.

Imo, considering that at some point they started advertising their roadmap ( and all heroes and most of cosmetics were meant to be paid DLC ), deciding at some point to add the first 2 heroes for free ( and with exclusive co-op mechanics ) it's something that should be considered more like a gift that wasn't planned at the beginning.

Not playing co-op would indeed mean not being able to play such free characters but it's no big deal since it's a gift.

Not sure whether with a future update they will give or not the chance for those heroes to be played in solo too, but as for now I kinda feel sorry for Passtech games, since their attempt to offer something unique ( the game lacked 2 heroes that shares co-op mechanics ), and for free ( leaving apart it was announced since months ), was not received so well by part of the community.

Agree with this such a waste of time and energy for useless free characters.

Yes, really.

Adding first 2 heroes "for free" while excluding most of the player base from playing them doesn't feel like a gift, it feels like a spit in the face. It is twice as bad considering how long it takes for them to develop stuff. They just wasted a lot of time on something most of the players can't play instead of creating two regular heroes that can be played by both solo and multiplayer enthusiasts.

It is a big deal, since this "gift" took the development time away from proper heroes that everyone could play, paid or free.

I don't feel sorry for them, because there was backlash when they first announced they're going to introduce multiplayer only heroes, and instead of course-correcting their horrible decision and making those two heroes playable solo in some way, even if functionality is reduced compared to coop (which, by the way, it doesn't really look they need to be paired so far by the gaemplay teaser, they seem to act independently), they stuck to their ill-conceived guns.

2 heroes that share co-op mechanics is fine. 2 heroes that can't be played outside of co-op is a no-no. It's no Cho'Gall which would at least explain the co-op requirement. I want to think of Xayah & Rakan, which have unique interactions in their skills with each other, but otherwise are perfectly playable separately.

If there are so many of you, why won't y'all just play together? Considering how much y'all don't mind crying out loud I don't think y'all have a hard time proposing to a random to play together. It is literally a "you" problem.

Because mp is literally another game, and while part of the players don't play it due to necessity, many prefer not to play it because it's entirely different beast? Like, are you messed in the head? Why simple concept of someone wanting to play the game alone and not having heroes removed from the roster because of it is so hard to grasp for you?

Multiple reasons.

First - we don't want to.

Second - multiplayer is a buggy mess with frequent disconnects, lag spikes and no option to reconnect making the game an objectively worse experience unless you are lucky.

Third - even if you happen to find a match in multiplayer that works perfectly it is not guaranteed that you will be able to pick the character you want to play because you are dependent on another random player picking exactly one other character which is a rare occurrence in itself and nobody else being faster than you when picking the character you want.

Now would you kindly stop blindly defending an objectively bad decision that is to detriment to a large part of the playerbase?

Why is it so hard for you to grasp a simple concept of it not being made for people who want to avoid it? If you don't want to play coop then you don't need "«solo-budget» coop designed characters".

Nor have I mentioned matchmaking. I'm talking manually finding a singular person, its not that hard.

Maybe y'all would stop blindly hating on it? It's not out yet and, yes, maybe I am fully in the wrong and they have no reason to be coop locked, or you all wrong 'cuz their execution maybe severly coop dependent but also be very good for that reason

Now you're just not making sense trying to defend an indefensible thing. Pathetic.

Do we even know if solo player is a large part of the palyerbase for this game ?

And it's a free update after full realese, they doesn't owe you how they spend their development time.

Personnaly, I fully play solo but those characters actualy make we want to try the coop
