They took some inspiration from Cho'Gall, from Heroes of the Storm, a character with two heads that requires two people to play. This is a fun concept. I don't really see the need to co-op Romeo and Juliet, for example, what are the features in their kit that demands they be two player?
I just hope for some clarity and if they can, take feedback.
On the one hand because I tend to play co-op only, and on the other hand because while they started by saying that every new hero would have been a paid DLC, they decided to release the first one, 2 heroes that can be only played in co-op together, for free.
Waiting to see what unique perks that work altogether they have.
This: "I am extremely introverted so I get where you are coming from"
Completely contradicts this: "Maybe instead of just turtling forever, go outside your comfort zone and grow".
Why should anyone take anything you say seriously? That's a question for the ages.
I am not your people. do not lump me in with you. I cannot know if you represent me and I do not care if you do. I can go out of my comfort zone by playing games that are in genres I haven't tried. with such a wealth of games releasing and going on sale at all times why would I waste my time on a game that doesn't cater to me when one elsewhere does? I am the consumer same as you and as a consumer I get to decide what my time and money are worth. it is not worth my time to return to a game with no new content for me to play. this thread asked my opinion so I gave it. I don't need your permission to have my opinion just because you find this concept to be an interesting one. I don't. we disagree, and that's ok. but you disagreeing with me does not give you a platform to preach I should change my life or ways I enjoy my free time just as I have no authority to dictate how you should spend yours.
but we agree on something: they definitely didn't need to do this.
every introverted person is not a unified front. clearly we have some differences. it wasn't a very successful idea in heroes of the storm and that game was multiplayer focused so I have no idea why anyone would think the idea would go over better here just because its novel. why make the post? the post asked for opinions did it not? If I made a post saying "how does everyone feel about hats?" and you say "I don't like hats" should I then respond "why even post if you don't like hats?" also by that same logic you shouldn't post positively about it because people have already expressed some positivity for it.
where did I say I wanted them to tweak it? furthermore where did I say that they weren't allowed to do it? let's not invent arguments to have. also as long as we are clarifying things that were actually said, nowhere in my first post did I say I was introverted so I didn't "literally" say I was
in regards to the OPs question, originaly to me it seamed rather questionable and unjustified, but after a bunch of times thinking about it, i dont mind it, its just a price devs have to pay to realise the design.
what can they have that requires coop lock? oh well, heres a few potential ones:
- passives that are tied to having a teammate close by, like "you/they deal 25% more damage if a teammate is close by", or an active boost that you can only be given to a teammate
- abilities that revolve around teammates, for example something like marci's jump from DOTA2 aka an ability that can only be activated by using teammates.
first one maybe not that restrictive to coop, but if their abilities require teammates for activation its pretty reasonable.all in all, its a free content, and especially if its well executed, theres no real reason to complain
(also, i thought they were Hansel and Gretel, well, i still kinda do cuz i think they are more appropriate to the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of this world (i just noticed the reveal. dang ,_,)
