I need Sun Wukong solo Nightmare tips
Hi, I managed to complete Nightmare with Beowulf, Geppetto and Ice queen so far, trying with Sun Wukong now, but I really hate this character so far, his early game feels so weak I struggle to clear green camps at lvl 1.

His aoe is terrible, and using his Yang stance feels like doing a no hit run or instantly die on one hit in nightmare, his defense doesn't help much against some enemies, like trees.

What I'm doing wrong? Any tips?

The best wukong play my experience is focus pumping the jump kick around. But that is for difficulty below Nightmare...... (I just beat Darkness yesterday 1st time)
1) talent give extra bounce
2) talent give storm strike after kick
3) item give extra power charge
4) item give extra power damage
5) item give power CD reduction.......

There you goes, most encounter just flying kick around if there is at least 2 enemies.
Otherwise, you got no choice but to play risky stance very well with occasional defense.

I'm not a big fan of Wukong, but I have won with him on NM mode a few times. I basically sat in Yin mode while travelling and switched to Yang mode in camps after they attack so I get the burst dmg. I did this until I got a few levels then would play more aggresively when needed. My first win with him was a joke cause I got 5 Ogre Bloods in ch 1 with vitality starting talent, got a cauldroun of dyrnwich from the miniboss, then got 4 horns (before the change) so I was able to sit in Yin mode almost the entire game I was so strong.

Learning to use his parry is really important as well, so just do a couple practice runs where all you do is parry enemies to get used to it, cause it really does mean the diff between winning and get demolished in NM mode.

I finally won a run with Sun wukong on Nightmare! If anyone has no clue how to survive early game this is what i did.

Started with Thirst of inmortality quest, try to gather a few Ogre bloods and Mermaid tears, got Fiery Dragon + Resonance, that carried me on act 1, then on act 2 I got Airbender + Thundercloud, finished the quest, and from that point I was literally inmortal with tons of damage.

He is a really tough character, if you're trying to learn him, be patient, you'll probably die a lot even before getting lvl 2. Good luck!

learn how to use his defense. knowing how to use it combined with the Stone Monkey starter can allow you to just stand there blocking everything while simultaneously killing everything around you. also One Inch Punch is a ridiculous power spike due to the raw damage and high stagger power of it

Honestly he just seems like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Even when you spec into only damage you can't do enough damage to beat anything timed. You could probably make a broken tank build that takes 56 years to kill anything though.
