Do these developers do balance changes? Carmilla needs buffs, playing her feels like ass.
Title. She genuinely feels frustrating and annoying to play. Her power spots are so narrow it's all "chores" and cycling specific cooldowns for a very flat, boring playstyle. The "reward" is not there at all. It's just risk and chores for mediocre payoff, with a lot of downtime using ineffective weak buttons between.

She's really short of the intended spot, I hope she gets more work.

She's really fun to play but it takes a while to learn how to play her. There's a really powerful bat aoe build you can go. My main complaint is I wish you can toggle on and off your trait when you like. She has a burst playstyle. You bite and auto attack til you have like 80% or more blood then you trait and blow up everything. If you trait then pop your ult it doesn't use up all of your blood. She's really powerful, just has a higher skill curve vs other characters. Not saying your bad or anything, I have her at level 8 right now. Also if you use the modifier where she gets two power and specials, she blows everything up :) Would be nice if she generated blood a little bit faster

I find her to be pretty even with most other heroes. She has a higher skill cap than many, because you have to deal with her additional mechanics, and she's not top-tier. But lots of multiplayer game stats pages have shown me that her damage tends to come out within 10% of everyone else most of the time.

One good point is that her good builds aren't even available until at least rank 3-6. Other heroes have a lot better early builds.

I'm not saying the heroes are all balanced, but Carmilla is somewhere in the middle, IMO.

Essentially she doesn't really come into her own without specific higher rank unlocks and a particular reliance on specific items. She should still get some tweaks to her less loved buttons and abilities, bring her closer to the other heroes in terms of feeling good earlier and having broader builds. I hope future hero designs have a better recognizance for the "onboarding" and leveling up phase of trying a hero out, because her frustrating points and more obscure elements actively prevent new and returning people from bothering to invest. While it's nice to see she can scale up with proper investment, it's not a good way to drive interest or bring in new people if future heroes feel like absolute ♥♥♥♥ to play with the first 4~ish sessions like this.

I do like certain aspects of her kit quite a lot and it seems those are the ones with builds around them, so I'll grind it out in co-op with a bud to get past the magikarp ranks. Thanks for the responses!

She's largely an underwhelming chassis to put overpowered items on. On my runs with her, if I get something going and there's 150 bonus attack and 120% extra damage on crits with her special which is critting 90% of the time, she feels solid.

When you're stuck with two green armors and no talent synergy, yeah, just start over.

This is the case for any of the heroes though. You need build synergy to win, especially on Nightmare. Carmilla is by far the strongest character when it comes to mobility and short animations (no animation lock getting you swatted down).

I think the only thing that needs work is her power. It is so strong early game, then drops dead in ACT 3 because everything has huge AOE cones and circles that you have to dodge out of constantly.

But the worst part is the final boss (spoiler boss!) does not have a stagger bar and has you constantly running and moving, especially on their final phase. You just can't sit still and channel for the length of time that would make the skill useful.

I can't say she's my favorite but she has a lot of crit synergies, and crits are amazing if you take crit damage from books or stack the Rose

I like carmilla aoe clear speed.
But her single target dps is what I really dislike.
I can only count on ultimate

I think Carmilla is actually pretty strong, and she's capable of becoming stupid in a Monkey King way through damaging while intangible all the time through her special/defence spam.

I also think she's easier to pull off than if Monkey King gets "unlucky" with items/talents, especially for coop, cause her ability to mass cleave like crazy early game helps you snowball much faster.

I do think eventually you need to fixate on special/defence or even AA dash damage, and making them spammable. Power would be fine, if injection wasn't buggy still though workable.

I will also say, I think some of her talents feel really bleh to work with, especially from an early game perspective, but I just...I dunno assumed maybe that's fair given how strong she can get. Also most heroes have these type of talents tbh lol.

I fixate on getting as much rerolls as possible to get magical items for cd/charges, or sift through her low value won't do anything for me in early game talents.

Dispersion/Furious Tempest/Flesh Rip imo helps the "drudgery" of building up blood early game not feel as bothersome. Also Raven Effigy is amazing on her imo.

You can also try playing around Mermaid Tears/Boiling Blood, and spam defence bats/dispersion if you find the blood/trait dynamic getting on your nerves, kinda hilarious tbh.

Or go for an AA spam dashes build. The dash/cruel strikes build is also funny with her first ult second option, or the whip second option. Her AA with bleeds and max AA items for attack speed is actually pretty good, with dispersion bleeds, Onslaught, you can kill bosses before every breaking the stagger bar. Puncture builds blood for your defence needs. Sadism/Desert Rose for a lot of Crit stuff. Kinda boring though feels Beowulf like, but much slower build up, and riskier.

The talents that imo need to get looked at are:
-Injection, it's actually very good, but it's a little buggy, sometimes doesn't go off, and doesn't work on bosses.
-Seductive Provocation's requirement feels never worth it imo, maybe a range increase would make it ok dunno, or it should work on bosses as well, I like the concept of it though.
-Onslaught, if you have Cruel Strikes and you dash, it cancels the Onslaught proc, I feel like most heroes who have AA changing talents don't have that kinda problem.
