I do however strictly only play with a lobby and friends and it's fun.
I recommend joining the discord community if you want to coop.
If you are lucky enough to meet smart players that don't do as above, MP is much easier. So my advice is to go for MP only with trusted friends. All the experience in SP is actually ruined by Act 3 Boss (almost impossible to beat alone); they should nerf it.
I hope to have been useful to you.
I totally disagree with the guy that claims coop to be harder. The true point is, as I have explained in my previous post, who you play with. If you get to play with stupid rushers, which use zero brain and run all the time from a point of interest to the other without even thinking about what they are doing (example: rush to do quests when underleveled for them), you are doomed for sure. But, basically, SP is much harder than MP if you have someone reliable to play with.
Enemy health scales and the chances that one ally brings the party down are higher.
It's nothing weird or new to talk.
Being solo, it's up to you only ( if you suck, you'd probably lose ).
In a group, if some of the party members don't contribute enough, die, can't properly dps and positioning, the others will have to cover up for them.
This also means that given one or 2 expert players, those could carry the newbyes around ( but it's something typical for all games ). Reason why some players prefer mp ( because they get carried by others. and you can see the dps/dmgtaken/death difference at the end of the run ).
You can just google/yt solo run compared to coop ones and see the difference yourself ( the former will end up killing bosses in 5/10 seconds, while in coop good luck with that ).
It's perfectly doable by yourself, at least in 3 of 4 of the difficulties, I didn't played the last one yet. Probably playing with a competent group is more fun tho but I don't expect that on matchmaking.
