Worst characters for me are Melusine and Gepetto. I know they are both strong, but Melusine is just so awkward to play for me, and Gepetto has the worst defense skill in the game. Makes things tough to avoid.
It took me a while to get good with Redhood, but I understand she is weak early and a monster against bosses. However, Wukong made me ragequit so much that I eventually gave up on him.
I think the more noob friendly build is to focus on his power talents (can hit same target/bonus jumps/lightning procs), and enhance power damage/charges items...and use the starter trait of enhanced stance effect for a short time...stay in blue, till ur cds are up...switch red..use everything..back to blue. I don't even parry at all, just recover using lifesteal from blue.
It's not op or anything but...doable without having to be too sweaty lol.
The other nice "easy to use" traits are Special causes weaknes/vuln, and the end of special reprocs strength buff or prolong changed stance buff.
But ya after I got him to 8, I am like...I am not ever doing that again xD...I have seen some wukongs doo craazy damage though..I am not sure how? maybe reflects? dunno.
You're picking the wrong skills. Literally everything you mentioned EXCEPT the Stone Monkey starting skill are the skills you should avoid.
Airbender, focused strikes, Sacred seal, ringing beads, Thundercloud, are the skills to aim at.
2nd tier skills would be Om, one inch punch, divine palm, and Resonance. Resonance is only useful if you get stuck with Frost tiger/Fiery dragon and/or Mantra of balance, so it's situational.
Sprint and fiery golden eyes are useless skills that should be avoided at ALL costs.
Getting to objectives faster or scouting faster can also be useful for QoL, but I wouldn't take it all the time.
There is a way to cheese his AA combo to have him do his last attack faster and such, but you have to use your dash which makes it risky.
M2 build is by far his strongest build imo (airbender, focused strikes + thundercloud should be a win). And his 'kamehameha' skill is one of the best standalone talent in the game I'd say (not needed for the M2 build)
Sprint build is kinda hard to pull off and still underwhelming in terms of damage I think.
Fiery golden eyes is mostly used for the shards bonus, but I feel it's not very useful with the avalon update. Maybe with bigger maps, the scouting part could be useful, but rn I end up doing almost everything, everytime.
And even though I feel confident in my block, I like taking a 2nd charge of defense when I can.
Even if I like them all, my least fav is Beowulf, just because of the feel and the fact that he takes far too long after his empowered E to move, making me die so many times :D
Wild. He seems so OP to me compared to every other character. Just absolutely shreds anything while being super safe
Try golfing the puppets with power into enemies, he's disgusting lol!, line em up and keep chugging puppets at them, very safe and hilarious. Also his starting dash talent, which I always thought is weird most likely bad as it is not puppet related? is actually a really fun ability, it does a lot of damage, and makes vorpal blade, vuln on dash really good.
Piper feels bad to solo and siren feels the most askward.
Rest of the cast is strong and fun.
Have yet to try Wu
Personally, I don't like Snow Queen. She is such a b*tch.
Other characters try to encourage each over some times, Queen speeches are completly toxic
