Saved games

So... after I finished one quest/scenario/chapter, I was offered to continue playing or save my progress. I chose to save it. Then I re-entered the game to check everything was ok... and then I could only "abandon" the quest or "exit". I then chose "exit"... and not only I lost my progress (Now I have to start again)... I also recieved ZERO experience for the character...

Is there a way to, you know, play the campaign without so much stress? I mean, its 2024, exiting a game should not erase your progress (I totally get restarting the chapter, but not the whole campaign).

At least I would love some dev to check it and giving my Scarlet her rewards (since I lost the campaign progress at least count it as an "abandon" choice).
