I only played for 3 runs now, not sure. Get the game, check yourself every permanent stuff you keep, if it's not enough for you, refund.
Yeah im older myself ( 35 next month ) and can get the twitch reflexes for some things arnt always as sharp as when you were 20 lol...The games playable though with the random fresh start per run aspect of it. The thing i would say though is that the game does seem "harder" solo as it feels more designed for co-op type play in mind the way its built. I dont mind that but i am also more of a solo player in games and usually dont play with others so going at the game by yourself is a bit more daunting i feel seems like with some objectives or missions etc
Gents - we're all old farts! I'm similarly aged to both of you and would say that this game doesn't need nearly the same reflexes as say CotdG where you had to parry attacks.
That being said I think it is much harder than, say Hades, some of it is mechanical (right combos and use of skills), but the hardest thing by far is knowing whether you're using your time efficiently - and I think a lot of players are playing badly without even realising it.
The game is absolutely playable and enjoyable solo - I'm aiming for lvl 5 on all characters solo on nightmare 9. Look up a guy called OhDough on YT if you need some help.
i (mid 40s, lol) had a learning curve where i had to adapt to the concept of the open world progression in order to get decently levelled in time. Before i really understood this, i was way under dpsing and i thought i just sucked
